American League Power Rankings: June 21 Stuck

1. Texas Rangers (43-27) Last week: 2
The League�s hottest team just keeps going. With a +90 run differential, Josh Hamilton back in the lineup, Yu Darvish pitching well, and Roy Oswalt in the rotation, the Rangers have everything going for them.

2. New York Yankees (41-27) Last week: 1
After a 10 game winning streak, the Yankees lost two in a row to the Braves. They fall a spot as the Rangers just keep winning.

3. Los Angeles Angels (38-32) Last week: 6
The Angels have won 7 of 10, just got Jered Weaver back, who pitched 6 shutout innings, and Mike Trout continues to amaze.

4. Tampa Bay Rays (38-30) Last week: 3
Some sloppy defense and now a setback in Evan Longoria�s recovery are hurting the Rays, who are just 5-5 in their last 10. Yet, they are just 3 games back in the AL East.

5. Baltimore Orioles (39-30) Last week: 4
The fighting Showalters just won�t go away. Although they were swept by the Mets, they are still 6-4 in their last 10 and just 2.5 games out of the AL East lead.

6. Chicago White Sox (36-33) Last week: 5
Sox are just 3-7 in their last 10 and are just 17-20 at home this season. Yet, they are just a half game behind the Indians

7. Cleveland Indians (36-32) Last week: 7
Winners of three straight, the Indians are now in a virtual tie with the White Sox for the Central lead. The lack of strikeouts from the staff and a lineup left-handed heavy are still concerned, but the Indians are atop the standings despite a run differential of minus-31

8. Boston Red Sox (35-33) Last week: 10
The Sox have won four straight and actually have the second best run differential in the division. After a rocky start, the Red Sox are beginning to play like contenders. There is too much talent on the roster for them not to make a legitimate run.

9. Detroit Tigers (33-35) Last week: 9
7-3 in their last 10. Doug Fister is back, Justin Verlander is still the best in the business. This team is coming quickly.

10. Toronto Blue Jays (35-34) Last week: 8
Now in last place in the AL East with two more pitchers on the DL, the Blue Jays are falling.

11. Oakland A�s (33-36) Last week: 12
Winners of 7 of their last 10, the A�s are close to having a positive run differential. Tommy Milone�s bizarre statline continues to amaze: 5-1 at home with a 0.99 ERA. 2-4 on the road with a 7.28 ERA.

12. Kansas City Royals (31-36) Last week: 14
The Royals are faring well in Interleague competition, having won 7 of 10.

13. Seattle Mariners (30-41) Last week: 11
The offense is just putrid. No regular has an OBP over .326. Felix Hernandez�s prime is just wasting away.

14. Minnesota Twins (27-40) Last week: 13
The Twins have the worst run differential in the league at minus-78. The lone pitching bright spot has been Scott Diamond, but his peripheral statistics suggest a big regression.
