We have officially made it to the halfway point of the 1979 season, and what a season it has been thus far. Teams that dominated last year are not doing so well this year, while other teams that struggled last year are finding their footing this season. We may only be halfway done, but just like the first 8 weeks, the last 8 weeks will go by quick so every team needs to get on their game and make sure they get into playoff positions. Enough talk, lets get to the scored.

Detailed Recap:
The top story for week 8 is the crowning of a definitive leader in the NFL. The past several weeks it two or more teams have been tied for 1st in the entire NFL but with the little amount of games played, it was hard for one to rise above the rest. That ended this week when the Cleveland Browns put down the Cincinnati Bengals 24 to 22 with a late score. This win brings the Browns up to 7-1 and with both the Saints and Rams losing, making both teams 6-2, that leaves Cleveland at the top of the hill as the number one team in the NFL. Honestly, unbelievable and please note that even though the Browns are my real life favorite team, I don't play favorites in my simulations so this is all 100% legit.
Our next story is the upset in Kansas City. Déjà vu? Well, sort of. Last season the Browns upset the undefeated Chiefs in Kansas City. This season, in week 2, the Browns left Kansas City with an upset win over the Chiefs. Well, I guess lightning strikes three times because the New York Giants took down the Chiefs 27 to 21 and with that win the Giants are now the leaders in the NFC East. The Giants have shown a lot of improvement this season so we'll have to keep an eye on them in the following weeks.
Next we head to Tampa Bay where the "Battle of the Bays" took place between the Packers and Buccaneers. Green Bay started this season with a losing streak after finishing 2nd in the NFC last year. It seems like they may be turning things around as they picked up their 3rd win this season beating the Buccaneers 26 to 21 and increasing their record to 3-5.
Finally we have what has turned into a repeating report just because of how unexpected it has been. The St. Louis Cardinals continue to suprise the NFL and the world as they take down another tough opponent in the Dallas Cowboys in Dallas. The Cardinals finished last season with one of the worst records in the league, but fast forward to halfway through this season and the Cardinals find themselves with a 500 record of 4-4 and 2nd in the NFC East. This team has a chance but we'll see if they're able to capitalize on it.
I want to apologize for the very late posting. I have been sick all week, it was my Birthday on Thursday, so I have been busy or resting. I know this post was supposed to go out on Friday and Week 9's post was supposed to go out today so this is what I'm going to do: Today you get this post, Week 8, tomorrow I will post Week 9, and then on Tuesday I will post Week 10. 3 posts, 3 days in a row and it will get me back on track. I hope that makes up for everything and I'll see you all here tomorrow for Week 9!
