It's 2019 and week 5 has been completed. It was a very interesting week to say the least, so let's jump right into it! Here are the scores from week 5:
Cincinnati Bengals 25 (1-4) San Francisco 49ers 17 (1-4)
San Diego Chargers 28 (2-3) New England Patriots 31 (4-1)
Seattle Seahawks 13 (2-3) Denver Broncos 17 (1-4)
Arizona Cardinals 27 (3-2) Miami Dolphins 21 (2-3)
Oakland Raiders 26 (2-3) Chicago Bears 23 (1-4)
Pittsburgh Steelers 24 (4-1) New York Jets 17 (2-3)
Houston Oilers 31 (2-3) Cleveland Browns 25 (2-3)
Philadelphia Eagles 28 (3-2) Baltimore Colts 14 (1-4)
New York Giants 16 (1-4) Atlanta Falcons 40 (3-2)
Detroit Lions 27 (1-4) Green Bay Packers 30 (5-0)
Kansas City Chiefs 35 (5-0) Buffalo Bills 29 (4-1)
Minnesota Vikings 14 (3-2) Tampa Bay Buccaneers 28 (3-2)
Los Angeles Rams 44 (5-0) New Orleans Saints 17 (2-3)
Dallas Cowboys 31 (3-2) Washington Redskins 28 (2-3)
Alright, our top story for the week comes from the game that I dubbed the "undefeated faceoff" between the 4-0 Chiefs and the 4-0 Bills. This game also determined the #1 team in the AFC so a lot was on the line. It was a very exciting a close game but 4 quarters was not enough as this game went into over time. We saw the Kansas City Chiefs keep their winning streak alive after getting a win in OT over the Buffalo Bills, 30 to 27.
This was far from the only game that went into overtime. The Green Bay packers went scoreless in the first half at home, but put together a come back in the 2nd half to force the game against the Detroit Lions into overtime. The Green Bay Packers completed their comeback by beating the Lions in overtime 30 to 27
Our next story comes from the 3rd game that went into overtime. The Houston Oilers and the Cleveland Browns had to decide a winner with overtime play. The Oilers earlier in the game scored a safety in their attempt to tie the game. The did end up tying up the score and were able to pull off an overtime win over the Browns, 31 to 25.
The final story this week is also the final game that went into overtime. That's right! 4 games this week went into overtime! Too crazy! The Bears tie the game late in the 4th quarter to send it into overtime, but it was the Oakland Raiders that came out on top 26 to 23.
5 weeks down, 11 weeks to go! There is still plenty of time left for anything to happen and I hope you stick with me for the next 11 weeks in the season to find out which 12 teams make the playoffs. Thank you for reading!
