Intro
Hello and welcome to my new blog about Madden 19, more specifically a blog about a recreation of the 1978 NFL season using Exhibition Mode on Madden 19 to sim each game. This post is an introduction to what my blog is about and to provide all the information needed to understand everything behind why I started it.

Why am I doing this?
In order for others to enjoy and follow along through out the entire season, I feel it is important to explain why I have decided to do this and what will make this something of interest.

It started with my desire to play Madden more. I�ve played franchise mode as a coach and player and it was getting a little stale. I came up with this idea one slow morning at work and started putting this idea together. For starters, I chose this year because it was the first year the NFL had 16 regular season games instead of the 14 game season it had prior. It is important to note that at this time there were no by-weeks and because it would not work otherwise, I am going to abide by the "no by-weeks" for my recreation. I think there are a few things that makes this recreation of an old season interesting and intriguing. First, and the most obvious, I am using a unique schedule: the 1978 NFL schedule. With 28 teams at that time and 32 teams now, there are an exponential amount of combination of games a team can have in a season. This season already has predetermined match ups because, well, it�s already happened of course! Why is this interesting? Glad you asked and this leads me to my next point: the rosters. I decided I was going to keep the default Madden 19 roster. The players from 1978 are not in the game for obvious reasons, so I felt this was the best and easiest solution. With the unique schedule, combined with today�s rosters and occasional luck, will make this a very interesting season. Finally, some teams were in different divisions than they are now, and in one case a completely different conference! This changes up the weekly match-ups AND division games. The playoffs are going to be completely different because of these 2 things alone.

Posting Schedule
I am planning on posting updates every Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday. Each post will be an update for 1 week of the season about the games and anything interesting that happened. So, with that, I hope you all join me in this crazy simulation and follow along for the days and weeks to come!
