Some fixes for NBA 2K11 My Player.

Well since Mike Wang has returned to the 2K franchise, 2K11 looks like it's going to be huge. Especially since he has a whole new mode to mess around with. After camping on MLB 08 & 09's RTTS this past winter, I found that the 2nd patch for NBA 2K10 fixed the main issues that I had with MP mode. So I finally gave it a try after being cloned twice before. I would have to say that 2K10 did a great job with My Player(when it's functioning correctly) considering it's the first year and everything. Sure it wasn't perfect, but it has great potential. Here are some of the fixes that I feel would be huge specifically for 2K11 My Player:

BTW My Player is a starting Athletic SF for the Atlanta Hawks just for you people (what do you mean "You People") who want some background info.

- Play calling and Practice - As far as I know, and tried, you can't run plays for both offense and defense. A better practice feature could help us learn how to run the plays like Madden SS Mode had the first year they came out.

- Contracts - Should be earned like RTTS. None of this 'I get to pick whatever team I want to' business. That should only happen when I get to 90+ OVR.

- Coaching AI - Mainly the starting lineups. Alot of these lineups don't even make sense. The Hawks just made room for my 65 OVR SF at the expense of Joe Johnson. Really, the best player on the team who plays a different position?

- CPU AI - Catch my usual tendencies like Madden 10 play calling. I can score a constant 45 driving to the right for the layup all game. The only thing that stops me is when I get double teamed.

- The SIM Machine - There are times when we're blowing a team out by 30 with 6 minutes left. I get subbed out and go to the sim machine expecting to end the game. I usually get subbed back in less than a minute later. This happens nearly every time I use the SIM machine.

- Playing Time - Should be a little harder to earn. In RTTS, you play according to your role until you successfully show that you can handle the next step. You feel that you've accomplished something when you finally get there. If people can't earn it, tough luck. You have to reach the standard to play just like the NBA life that's being simmed from your game.

- Alternate Uniforms - Use them like RTTS does, we don't have an option but the game still uses them at random games. The throwbacks look great.

- Presentation - Can we be in a shootaround atmosphere during loading like Live did? The only thing is, put us in the half full arena and in our warmups with our teammates just like real life pregame. Going thru the starting lineups (even if the PA audio is generic) would be sweet too even if it is only for the playoffs.

- All-Star voting - I avg. 30 pts. a game midway through Jan and I'm 6th in the SF running. JJ doesn't even start getting 7 pts a game and he's 2nd in the SG running. Another thing, it should just be G's F's and C's. Rookie challenge and dunk contest for the 4 with the most dunks. The dunk competition is beautiful on blacktop (I love 2K9's version better). Don't waste it, implement it.

- Timeouts - Have in game evaluating features like EA's NHL and Fight Night. The evaluations after the game are pretty sweet. Have it happen during halftimes and timeouts too.

- Emotion - No Techs? RTTS allows your guy to get thrown from the game a couple of times if you get out of hand.

PS: Here's some fixes for my Hawks and myself

- Al Horford doesn't get his name called at home for a basket.
- The benches are on the wrong side at Philips Arena.
- The offensive crowd chant is "Let's Go Hawks!" not "Go Hawks Go"
- Can we give you more names for your database so the announcers and commentators say it? Your game is worldwide you know.

I've not a huge NBA fan, but I really enjoyed the My Player mode in NBA 2K10 this year. You definitely have some good ideas here, some are fixes, others are new ideas. Personally, I can't wait to see what they do with the My Player mode in NBA 2K11.

I created a Chuck Norris look a like, a Wolverine wannabe, and the long haired fella is as close as I could get to myself when I had long hair. LOVE the My Player mode!

I comletely agree with the player intros. i think that they should do them around playoff time. the playoffs should be a totally different atmosphere. if you are in association mode you should be able to choose any accessories and change the colors also update the jerseys like when madden had that in their game in 2004. the players should also age somewhat and you should be able to change anything on the upcoming rookies.
