Going into the top of the 7th inning, the Jays trailed 5-1 to the surging Angels. Thirteen batters later, eight runs had crossed the plate. The Jays' power surge at the plate continues to keep Toronto in games when their starters are less than adequate.

Jose Bautista had a 4-hit game for the Jays, including his 14th homer of the season. Rookie J.P. Arencibia added a pinch hit home run in the 8-run 7th. It was his 2nd home run since being called up from Triple-A Las Vegas for the injured John Buck.

The Jays struggled at the plate through the first six innings, only producing three hits until they exploded in the 7th. Toronto finished with 17 hits, 9 for extra bases.

Mark Rzepczynski lasted only 3 and two-thirds, surrendering 10 hits and allowing 5 runs, putting the Jays in an early hole. The Jays added 4 home runs in the 7th and a Vernon Wells insurance shot in the 9th to finish off the Angels with an 11-7 victory.
