The Jays could not get Dustin Pedroia out on Tuesday, April 10th and the Red Sox took the 2nd game of the series 13-8. Pedroia finished the game 5 for 5 with 4 runs scored and 6 runs batted in.
As has been the Jays problem thus far on the young season, the pitching has not been good enough. For a 3rd consecutive game, the starting pitcher has not gotten past the 5th inning. Today, Drabek lasted 4.1 innings before giving way to Luis Perez, who promptly walked the only hitter he faced.
Hitters once again swung wildly at pitches out of the zone, culminating in 11 strikeouts. Toronto is batting .236 as a team. Couple the low team batting average with the 8.79 team ERA and any fan will see why they are failing to win games.
The Blue Jays bullpen again struggled to get outs. Five relievers combined to allow 9 hits and 8 runs in 4.2 innings. The Jays find themselves in the basement on this young season at 1-4.

My pitching is atrocious. I don't think I've had a starter last past the 5th at all...brutal. My bullpen is getting used up too quickly and consequently getting lit up! It's ugly. I'm playing ever other game and I haven't won one yet. LOL

Yeah I've had a lot of tight games but the one im playing now, not so much lol. How are you hitting so many homers?

The Lind homer in this game was the first pitch of the AB and up in the zone. It was a meatball. Normally it seems like I foul that stuff off, but I crushed this one. The Mathis homer was absolute luck. It was an inside pitch, also up in the zone. I hit it opposite field. I thought it was going foul but it just hooked enough to stay inside the foul poll. I think my problem is I'm looking for the homer too often. Bautista, for example, has 20 ABs and 10 strikeouts! I swing at everything with him. No discipline.
