Let me preface this in saying I am not a fanboy of any sort other than that of good games. I have been gaming for 35 years and was excited as a 13 year old to pick upy PS4.

In the age of the internet where we have instant access to others opinions, I still stick with my own because it's the one I trust most. Thankfully, I respect others opinions but am glad I not easily persuaded to dislike something. If that were the case I would not be enjoying Madden.

I have read ... Read More

I am one who likes to read reviews for nothing but entertainment. It is one person's opinion based on their expectations prior to playing the game. I saw that IGN gave NCAA 14 a 7.4. A score lower than the past two years.

Having spent considerable time with the pre-release through the EA Ticket I disagree with this review. The reason I wanted to post my thoughts, not to say my opinion carries more weight, is to give a different view. I will keep it short and to the point.

I am on vacation. The weather is hot yet I'm suffering from a freeze thanks to NCAA 13. Finally had a day to myself. I pop in the game. All is good. Start up an offline dynasty, play game one and BAM! Freeze. Not in the first quarter, nooooo. Mr Freeze popped in after the final whistle. 40 minutes lost. Replay game one. All is good. Must have been an anomoly.

Move on to recruiting for week two. BAM! Freeze.

I put the game away for an hour. I come back and start ... Read More

I am going to admit thst I am at fault. I was the first person to be critical of EA's Season Pass. No way would I buy it with the minimal value it offered. That is til I read about and was reminded of Madden's early release for subscription holders. I am one who has issues with waiting. I have "Early-Adopter-Itis.".

I didnt just get the subscription for Madden alone. With NHL on the horizon I saw it as a grest opportunity to get quality time with the full game before its release. ... Read More

I have been gaming since 1979. This doesnt make me an expert it just means I am old. However, I have enjoyed seeing video games evolve into the awesome creations we have today, even Madden.

It seems 2K is on to something including legends in its NBA game. Although some are recycled it adds something to the game. Funny thing is that many of these legends I grew up watching. Again - old.

I had a discussion with a friend of mine and we both agreed that we would like ... Read More

With news released today that Reuters had discovered that Sony's online system is susceptible to additional security breaches, what will gamers do if the PSN outage lasts through June? Although I haven't read anything to suggest that the outage will last that long, I have read nothing that says it won't.

I know there are a large number of people who aren't online gamers. However, if the PSN outage lasts longer than expected, let's say when NCAA 12 releases, this could have a major ... Read More

As a gamer, this time of year is my favorite. I love sports games so details have already started rolling out for NCAA 12 and Madden 12. But beyond that, the reason this is my favorite time of the year is E3.

I have followed E3 since its inception either through magazines, the internet and most recently on G4. E3 is the Super Bowl of video game announcements. Rumors are already floating around about potential announcements for the next-generation of consoles (hard to believe ... Read More

I am curious to know what the aftermath of the Playstation Network debacle. For me, an owner of both the PS3 and 360, I am taking a hard look at how vulnerable my information is.

When the PSN is up and running again, even with Sony's oath to make sure everyone's information will be safe-guarded against hackers / criminals, I have no faith and will never purchase anything through the PSN store using my credit / check cards again.

I remember simpler times when online ... Read More

I recently commented on a blog that asked what happened to sports video games when I was struck in the head with "how come?"

The blog I read asked why sports video games have decreased in numbers over the past decade. Honestly, I never really thought about it until I read this blog but after I sat and pondered, I realized that sports video games have all but disappeared outside of the big sports which used to have several different variations of the game. There would be a licensed ... Read More

For the three or four folks who have read my handful of blogs in the past, they know that I consider myself an old school gamer. I have played tons of games on just about every console ever made (with the exception of 3D0 and Neo Geo).

Over the past ten years-plus years, my favorite time of year shifted from the holiday season to late spring, early summer because of E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo for the new folks). If you are a gamer, E3 is an event where we get a sneak peak ... Read More

First off, let me state that I have played video games on home consoles since 1979. I make this point not to declare myself an expert. I make this point because I have seen where home console games were and have watched this medium blow up into something beyond a toy.

The reason I am writing this is to obtain people's thoughts on the current status of the video game industry. I lived through the death of many consoles and the near death of home consoles all together.

I am a fan of lists, especially lists that circle around video games. Having playing video games for 30 years, I have seen an infant grow into a full-fledged monster.

I have seen a number of lists in regards to people's favorite games. For some, it is a classic title that brings back memories of youth and for some, more recent titles that have taken advantage of today's technology.

Below is a list of games that I consider favorites because of the reasons above...Feel ... Read More

I have played video games since 1979. I have owned the Magnavox Odyssey (Pong), Atari 2600, Intellivision II (w/ Intellivoice), Commodore 64, NES, Genesis, PS One, Dreamcast, PS2, XBox, 360 and the PS3. Does this make me an expert? No. What it does make me, other than old, is a person who has seen video games evolve into something incredible.

My preferred genre is sports. I visit many web sites dedicated to sports games and over the years I have seen developers steer the games ... Read More
