Before the competitive season began the captaincy was awarded to Goalkeeper Carl Ikeme. After being with the club since 2003 the 28 year old keeper is our first choice to put the gloves. With his broken hand fully mended after breaking it both of his previous seasons, he looks ready to lead the Wolves.
Despite playing a Football League Two side, we started a full strength side against Luton Town even though we played Norwich City 4 days later. After conceding the first goal, Wolverhampton locked down and scored the next 4 goals. Before conceding a late consolation goal to sub Ross Lafayette.
Most of the team pulled up surprisingly well considering the short break, so no changes were made before the first League game against Norwich. Expecting a tough match against a side that is aiming for promotion to the Premier League the Wolves need to sure up there defensive efforts against a more skillful and athletic team.
Young gun Michael Jacobs (Wolves) took man of the match honours connecting on 9 of his 12 passes, completing 7 of 10 dribbles and playing his role as a defense midfielder wonderfully with 5 tackles and 2 interceptions.
