Why I love Madden 10

I love football. I love the Titans, it hurt me when they could barely win four games a year, and I'm hurting a lot right now. Combine these two passions and what happens? My love for Madden, and not just the new one.

I buy Madden year in and year out. I am not an EA fan boy since I also buy NBA 2K every year. I buy it to play NFL football. Sure I care about simulated season stats, and yeah I hate how I can take Vince Young, win the MVP if I cheese enough, but he can still be rated 75 for four straight years.

But my passion comes from within, from the love of football and not some flaws with a video game. This game allows you to take control of your team like you always dream of. Lets you play as your idol. It let's you destroy and humiliate your rival.

So next time you pop in Madden to play, try to remember why you buy the game in the first place. Remember that you are in control of your heroes, and remember...it does have its mistakes, but so does everything else.

After all, it's only a video game.

Very well stated! I believe too many of us forget to just enjoy the video games we play these days. I am as guilty as the next person. Seems all we care about is winning (that's why we have ALL quit or restarted games when we were losing), and complaining about what the game does wrong.

I did buy Madden 10, first time since Madden 03, and I'll admit, I'm having fun again. That's all that matters to me. Since I'm an older gamer, I vividly remember playing Football on the Atari 2600, and I think there were like only three or four players to a side, and they all moved in unison and shook like they were on a sugar high. So, I do appreciate what these companies are putting out these days, it's great seeing the progression from the mid-70's to what is out now.

Oh, one more thing, sorry about the Titans. What a crappy start considering they had the best record in the AFC last year. Like they say, 'Any Given Sunday'. Hang in there, its a long season.
