...nobody.
Before I go on a rant about this, remember I love sports, I am obsessed with them, and I plan on making a career out of it. Also, I hate baseball. I used to love it. I loved watching Griffey and A-Rod. I loved seeing Randy Johnson pitch a strong eight innings and then seeing Norm Charlton finish it off. The Martini brothers, the buzz cut nights, and every "Grand salami."
Baseball has been ruined by steroids, not by taking them, but by talking about them. This is why I hate baseball now.
Back to the point of this, 162 games and we have a tie. Right now the Tigers and Twins are tied with one game left. Sure it is suspensful, but in a season where you play 162 games(which is too long in my opinion), you should be able to find the better team. Sure this happend to my beloved 1995 Mariners when they played the Angels in a classic, but I didn't think the way I do now.
Can't they use their records against each other, or their division record? This one game playoff just feels pointless to me. They played 162 games, somewhere in there you should know who is better.
You get to the playoffs for playing a good if not great regular season right? Yes. Look at it right now, the Tigers played awesome until now, and the Twins sucked until now. Should the Twins really earn a playoff spot just because they played better the last 20 games, but not the previous 142?
I may be ranting, but I know some people share my thoughts. Baseball is long enough, one more game each season could actually kill me.

I just hate seeing news about new rules everyday, I just got fed up with it.
