The Houston Astros...or LASTros as it were.....

OK, ok, ok.... I know it's early in the season and there is a loooong way to go before I can bury the Astros season in a shallow grave under an underpass - But this is gettig to be ridonkulous. The season is not even in full swing and they are already digging themselves into a hole they can only daydream about getting themselves out of. I am not going to ramble on and on about what this season could be - I am going to cut to the chase and target some things I wish would happen with our hometown baseball franchise.

1. Drayton sells the team to someone who knows baseball.
2. The first is not likely to happen, so number two is firing GM Ed Wade. Teams are going with young and innovative guys at GM thse days and we get a retread that Drayton likes and can stand versus someone with a proven record or percieved ambition for the longterm destination of this team...
3. Cut our losses and begin the rebuilding now. We are currently in process of watching Berkman and Oswalt hit their collective primes - for nothing. Pence is doomed to remain in mediocrity until the franchise is reborn in some fashion while he is still young and here. I say move these guys ad get prospects for them. As many as we can. Move Lee for whatever we can since it does not really matter with him since we have $1ook tied up with him but now no money to spend on pitching - with hese and some additional moves, perhaps that could be a building block in rebuilding our minor leagues and the franchise from within.

If this team could be exported into MLB the Show, the Astros would need a patch, slider adjustments and some roster tweaks by Knight to get them on track.
