Update 5/27/09
I have posted these in Sports Connect since I am very happy with how they play and the stats with them. They are posted under the name DrUrsus All-Star sliders. CPU power is 7 on my sports connect posted sliders, but everything else is the same as above.
Here is a link to download the sliders as well (and the SCEA 5-25 rosters are there too). The PS3 folder is zipped. Just place it on your USB stick or memory card directly after unzipping and copy it over.

Want to draw some walks? Like to be a selective, patient hitter, and get into some hitters counts? Like the CPU to be good, but not ridiculous coming back all the freaking time, and taking that low and away slider deep on you. Want to feel like YOU made a pitching mistake which cost you the game. Well, then these sliders might be right for you. Maybe not.
These are the sliders I am using for my franchise. Some people have asked me what I am using. I think I have settled on these for good.
First of all, these are not for great players, but for those of us still getting knocked around on All-Star level.
For those of you that just got the game, the global sliders are a must for realistic play and come from Psychobulk.
Fielding reaction is the only slider where you may want to determine what is best for you (10 (Psycho) (hits still get through depending on infielder, this helps with USER fielding especially), 5 default, 4 or 3 for more infield dribblers hit, but also more shots down the line that don't ever get caught and sometimes some slow animations that cause infield singles)
I was using 4 for fielder reaction, but changed it due to strange fielding animations that cost me infield singles that should not have happened (also watch having fielder errors up too high, this will also happen, and you won't get any more errors like you think you would). Don't go any lower than 3 on Fielder reaction.
DrUrsus Sliders
Level: All-Star
Pitching Interface: Pitch meter
Adaptive Pitching Intelligence: Default
Guess Pitch: No Feedback (Allows you to guess pitch situationally, but you still have to recognize the pitch. Also allows you to get swing feedback)
Umpire Balls & Strikes: Variable (helps draw walks)
Baserunning Controls: New
Auto Baserunning: Assist
Pitcher Confidence: On
CPU comeback: OFF
Autosliding: Assist
No power button, L-stick situational use, no R-stick
Recommendation: Turn off HR celebration camera
Camera: Hitting-Catcher Pitching-Pitcher Fielding - Medium
Credit for some of these go to pbz for the pitch sliders, Psychobulk for the Global sliders, and I think I also got ideas from Blzer at one point, but not sure if any of his sliders made it into my final sliders here.
Highlighted in Red are the major changes from the aforementioned slider sets.
Global
Pitch Speed 0 (this is up to you, but it helps me draw more walks and to be more selective. There is still a relative difference between a fastball and a curveball, etc.)
Fielding Errors 6 (anything higher and things some animations are strange imo. If you are seeing this turn it down to default 5)
Throwing Errors 4 (5 results in a lot of throwing errors)
Fielder Run Speed 1 (0 is too slow, 1 allows doubles and triples to happen more, but is realistic. Don't go any higher than 1 imo)
Fielder Reaction 10 (or 5 or 4 if you think fielder reaction is too high on 10. I have tested it and personally like 10 better for my own fielders because it helps me with fielding and avoids a strange animation that happens sometimes, but this is personal preference. If you want to keep the number of hits down 10 would be better as well since some dribblers won't happen as often).
Fielder Arm Strength 3
Baserunner Speed 5
Baserunner Steal Ability 5
Baserunner Steal Frequency 6 (just right)
Wind 5
Injury Frequency 5
User
Contact 5 (4 if you want to strike out more)
Power 7 (helps with HRs, doubles & triples)
Timing 5 (helps with check swings at default)
Fouls 7 (allows you to fight off 2 strike pitches to help draw walks)
Solid Hits 5
Starter Stamina 5
Reliever Stamina 0 (this is so relievers aren't totally fresh the next day all the time)
Pitcher Control 7 (see below **)
Pitcher Consistency 7 (see below **)
**Pbz has increased my walks by coming up with these (but you still have to get them the old fashioned way, you earn them). These two are important to keep your pitchers confidence up since you can miss your spots a little more and not lose too much confidence. You will still get hit hard if you miss your spots. Change pitcher control to 6 or even 5 and pitcher consistency to 6 (don't go any lower than that imo), if you are great at meter pitching.
CPU
Contact 3 (may up to 4)
* Power 6 or 7 (changed from 5 to 6 on 5-12-09) (5 did not work out stat wise or play wise) My sportsconnect sliders now have CPU power at 7, but I haven't decided on this one slider.
Timing 3 (may up to 4)
Fouls 5 (this is good, any higher and its hard to strike them out, they keep fouling off good pitches left and right.)
Solid Hits 3 (4 if needed)
As you can see from these I have made it so the computer has to be selective in their hitting or you have to make mistakes. There aren't as many low and away sliders pulled for HR's lol. If you miss your spots, you will still get pounded, especially by the good teams, trust me (unless you're really good (so why are you looking at my sliders then? ).
Starter Stamina 5
Reliever Stamina 0
Pitcher Control 5 *
Pitcher Consistency 3 *
Strike Frequency 0 *
These 3 are REAL important for getting walks because they get behind in the count with these. I have NOT seen more hit by pitches at all after many many games.
Manager Hook 6
Pickoffs 2 (perfect, they can still pick you off, but you won't have to be annoyed with them constantly throwing over.)
These play a FAIR game of baseball meaning you don't feel like the CPU is "screwing you over", lol. If you make mistakes, you pay, if you are selective, you can walk and get HR's doubles, triples. This plays a good game.
I would like to see more CPU manufactured runs, but that is a fault in the game itself it seems, and no slider is going to fix it.
I use the L stick on 0-2 counts & depending on the situation and for pitchers (for pitchers, you need to hit it dead on to get a hit usually). I never use the R stick or power button.
Hope this works for some of you. Any constructive feedback is welcome.
