Progressing To the Show
Posted on May 13, 2009 at 11:36 AM.
Well its been a while since my last blog. I haven't quit playing The Show already. With it being baseball season, I'm into it more than ever. I've been switching off to the ol Xbox360 for some Fallout 3 action on occassion. But so far, I haven't had anything of major worth happen. I finally made it to the show though. After 3 seasons in the minors, I made the squad and did it in strong fashion. The final AAA season, I lead the PCL in pretty much all offensive categories. And I'm becoming more comfortable to bump the sliders back down a bit. I ended up with a batting average around .380, 28 dingers, 118 rbi's, 7 triples and 48 doubles. I was feeling good. I've been progressing with my speed and fielding too. I've noticed that I am able to track down flies and line drives much better than before. I've even made a few diving and jumping catches in the process haha. It was pretty cool. But now I'm in the majors. First game I went 2-5, and right now after about a dozen games, I've got a batting average right in the mid .300's (can't remember exactly what it is off the top of my head) but I've been doing well. I have noticed that some of the MLB parks have a few spots in the outfield that hide the ball and I'll have trouble picking it up at times. But thats just part of it and I can only imagine how much more apparent it is in the real stadiums. I'm batting #3 in the lineup and my power ratings are climbing. I'm at 72 off RHP and 66 off lefties. My contact is up around 80 off righties. I think I'm going to devote more of my next stuff towards my fielding and speed. I'm making myself a powerful hitter, but it doesn't hurt to have a good set of wheels under me. I think thats the route I'm going the more I play. Kinda like pre-roid Barry Bonds. Enough power to be a threat at the plate, but a good amount of speed to pick up a stolen base here and there. My only real hopes is that I can get out of San Diego. Nothing against the team, because we're 8-4 at the moment, but I wanna get back to St. Louis if possible. Where's my agent at when I need him? Maybe I can do that in a few years as I get more time in the majors under my belt. Or maybe I can just go on a barnstorming tour and play for all the teams hahaha. A new team each month for a few years, that'd be interesting. But if I can't make it to St. Louis, I'd be happy in Minnesota or Baltimore if I were going to the AL and the Dodgers if I were staying in the NL. Definitely not a New York team (although I would take it as a sign that I was doing GREAT to get a big contract from the Yankees) or Boston. I believe I'd rather go to the Diamondbacks or Pittsburgh before I went to Boston. Shoot, send me back down to AA before that hahaha. Anyways, I'm going to get back at it tonight when I get home from work. My goal is to make the All-Star game in my first season and obviously Rookie of the Year would be nice too. Hopefully its a full season on the MLB roster and no AAA re-calls or anything. Til next time, GO CRAZY FOLKS, GO CRAZY!!
