MLB Gaming

I'm a relative newcomer here at the wonderful world of Operation Sports. I heard about the site through some friends who enjoy sports gaming. Not sure if they are on here or not, but regardless here I am. I'm a fan of sports gaming, however, I'm not a "hardcore gamer" by any means. I play games mostly when the seasons conincide, IE, baseball during baseball season, basketball during basketball, so forth and so on. Right now, I'm cranking out some major gameage on MLB 09: The Show. I've been a fan of The Show since it first came out. I believe that game is what killed my PS2. I played it so much that I think that the ol PS2 petered out. So when the next gen systems came out, I had to get a PS3 for the show. I believe that 09 is right on track as to where it needs to be. I agree with several out there, in that there are a few areas that need approving. I can't tell you how many times I've been caught running cuz the new system annoys me to no end. That and the reward points are kind are a bit extreme. Its hard to boost my stats when I'm getting 1 at bat every 2 or 3 games. I do say that those things need some attention. However, graphically speaking, there's not a game that can touch it. I've held strong to my thoughts that MVP 05 is one of the best baseball games. However in recent years, The Show is clmbing that ladder. Road to the Show is one of the best legacy modes, next to NCAA College Hoops 2k8 in my opinion. With that being said, I've had some of the troubles hitting like others, but unlike some, I haven't been afraid to adjust sliders to keep me from wanting to slam a controller through the tv. I'm big on slider adjusting. Some games take me a bit to get used to and I'll admit, sometimes I just want to beat the crap out of it before I feel comfortable advancing. I'll play it on rookie mode to feel it out and then bump up from there. But so far, this season has been good. I'm in AA Springfield for the Cardinals out in left field, batting .327 with 7 dingers and 19 RBI's. Here's to another year of great show RTTS and til next time GO CRAZY FOLKS, GO CRAZY!
