Random Thoughts From Southeast Missouri

So it's been a couple days....ok...several months since I've written up a blog. Not that I didn't have anything on my mind, I just never found the right amount of time to put it all out here. But I believe today I can get around to a few things.
It's been a pretty productive run of months since I last blogged. In NBA 2k11, I was the 2014 season MVP. I got to the point to where My Player was just rocking. But, I put the game down in favor of MLB The Show for the baseball months. I ran ... Read More

Hey all, I'm back again. It's been a busy few months for me. I haven't gamed as much due to recently moving, but now that I've got everything set up, at least the important things like the TV, videogame systems and laptop, I'm getting a bit more gaming time in. I'm still playing NBA 2k11 and I am NOT bored with this game at all. My player is progressing quite nicely in his season. I'm halfway through my second season now. Playing 6 minute quarters I'm averaging 19.3 points per game, 9.5 rebounds, ... Read More

It took me a while to get to this point (co-habitating with the girlfriend, working alot, holidays, you know) but I have finally made it through my first season on NBA 2k11. Here's a bit of my recap.
I started out my career being selected 28th by the New Jersey Nets in the first round. I was surprised that my great teammate scores translated into a spot on the NBA team roster to start the season and no NBADL play for me. Starting out getting about 5 minutes for a while was rough. Coupled ... Read More

I was really on the fence about the EA MMA game. I was happy to see competition coming for the UFC Undisputed series. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the UFC games, especially the last two. However, I was afraid that without big level competition, they would "pull a Madden" and not really overhaul the game with each release. When the EA MMA news was released, at first I laughed because they shunned Dana White years ago, saying that MMA wasn't a true sport. I find it ironic that since now the UFC and ... Read More

Well I've given 2k11 a fair shakedown so I figure it's time to write. Not a full shakedown, since all I've really played so far is the My Player mode, but still enough to start writing about it. Initially, I didn't think I would be that impressed with My Player mode. I got the summer camp download last year and it just didn't really seem to do much for me and ultimately I never purchased 2k10.. But this year it seems different. I like how it flows for the most part. I was able to jump in and feel ... Read More

So I realize it's been quite some time since I last wrote in here. Things have been kinda busy. I've been gaming, although not as much. New relationships do that on occasion haha. But I have to say my level for sports gaming has been amped up in the past couple weeks due to NBA 2k11's impending release. Now, I've been excited for games in the past. GTA 4 was a big one. Shoot, MLB The Show 09 was HUGE for me. As was The Show 10. HOWEVER, things have changed and been bumped up a level for 2k11. ... Read More

Hello old friend! It has been a while since I last wrote. I've been busy with my summer part-time job at the local drag strip. This is my 10th season and I'm fortunate enough to be able to work next to my Dad, who has been there 22. Good times and family fun! But that's neither here nor there. I have been on a 3-game rotation lately, so MLB has been seeing a bit of off time. I brought her back out this weekend though and hit it hard with a vengance! I'm still with the Padres, but my first MLB season ... Read More

Once again, I'm going to take a bit of a break from my MLB 09 blog for something different. Now, to preface this blog, I have to admit I'm really not THAT big of a fan of UFC and the MMA world. I've recently gotten into it more through my channel of friends that eat it up like hot dogs at a Cardinals game. But, to know what is going on and who the majority of the people are outside the bigger names is beyond me. However, I enjoy a good fighting game. Much the same way I'm not a WWE fan much these ... I'm going to take a break from my normal Road to the Show blogging action to talk about another sports game genre that I love: Drag Racing! It seems that drag racing gets overlooked. My hands down all time favorite game is Burnout Championship Drag Racing: Players Championship Edition. I'm a big fan of the local bracket style racing. I work at a 1/8th mile track in Southeast Missouri where I live and so this has become a big part of my life over the years. My father has worked there for over 20 ... Read More

Well its been a while since my last blog. I haven't quit playing The Show already. With it being baseball season, I'm into it more than ever. I've been switching off to the ol Xbox360 for some Fallout 3 action on occassion. But so far, I haven't had anything of major worth happen. I finally made it to the show though. After 3 seasons in the minors, I made the squad and did it in strong fashion. The final AAA season, I lead the PCL in pretty much all offensive categories. And I'm becoming more comfortable ... Well, I've had my first major event happen during the Show 09 this year. Last night, I was traded to the Padres! At first, I felt pretty betrayed. I mean, afterall, the Cardinals are MY team! I live just a few hours south of St. Louis, north of Memphis and east of Springfield. I feel fortunate in the fact that living in Southeast Missouri allows me to be near all the Cardinals teams that I like to see. I digress. Initially I was shocked and ALMOST re-started the game at that moment just so I wouldn't ... Read More

Well, I'm progressing fairly well with my AA-Springfield left fielder in this year's edition of the show. Once I became the starting left-fielder, I got on a super hot streak. Thankfully, I didn't have to wait long to crack the starting line up. One session of pinch hitting and subbing in the field and I was in. I'm now batting 3rd in the lineup, which suprised me completely. In the past, I'd crack the order around 7 or 8, even at the AA level. Now, before you go criticizing me and calling me a ... Read More

I'm a relative newcomer here at the wonderful world of Operation Sports. I heard about the site through some friends who enjoy sports gaming. Not sure if they are on here or not, but regardless here I am. I'm a fan of sports gaming, however, I'm not a "hardcore gamer" by any means. I play games mostly when the seasons conincide, IE, baseball during baseball season, basketball during basketball, so forth and so on. Right now, I'm cranking out some major gameage on MLB 09: The Show. I've been a fan ... Read More
