The unnecessary NBA labor strife has brought forth an abbreviated season for 2012. It has caused me to wonder whether or not my 2nd favorite professional sport was even worth watching this year. Fortunately, we live in a country of forgiveness and I chose to give my beloved sport a second chance for a couple of reasons. First of all, NFL football has lost its luster to me for some reason. I can't put my finger on exactly why, but long gone are the days of high anticipation on Sundays looking forward to the 3 pm Dallas Cowboys game. Secondly, I'm a huge Lebron fan. Now, I'm not the casual bandwagon jumping Lebron fan. I'm the Lebron fan that saw him as a high schooler on ESPN one night that looked like a man among boys. I've followed his career ever since in hopes of the greatness that has only bestowed itself upon the likes of one Michael Jeffrey Jordan.
The 2010-2011 season was a failure in my opinion and I think if you ask the "Big 3", they would tell you the same thing. This team was built for success....immediate success...lasting success and they fell short due primarily to not exorcising their own created demons. I know one game does a season not make, but watching the Heat on Xmas day...WOW! What was so impressive about the Heat's win over Dallas was not the fact that they looked to be in mid-season form. The most impressive thing I noticed in that win was the fact that they looked angry! The look on their faces was one of, "critics get ready, we are taking no prisoners this year."
My prediction for the NBA Finals: Miami vs Oklahoma City...the Heat win in 6.

Heat look hungry, that is for sure. Your comments on the NFL are identical to what I have been thinking. I can't quite place what is different but the anticipation and excitment is not what it used to be. I am still a HUGE NFL fan but you are right, that "luster" is not the same as it was before. NFL football is still my favorite sport though.

The Heat are on a a mission for sure this year. Tonight's game against the Celtics should really let us know whether or not the Xmas day game was a fluke. I don't think it was.
Yeah, I'm pretty "blah" on NFL this year. It sorta started last year. College football, (Alabama most notably) still gets me excited.
