Titans Win Shootout
Posted on August 22, 2010 at 03:09 AM.
(Tennessee) - So much for defense. The Titans defeated the Steelers 51-42 in week 2 of the regular season. The Titans were controlling the game from the start, amounting a lead of 20-7 at halftime. In the second half, however, they let the Steelers pass all over their prevent defense and allowed them back into the game. After trading scored multiple times, the Steelers scored a touchdown to make the game 48-42 late in the 4th quarter. Vince Young and Chris Johnson took it upon themselves to drive down the field and put the game away with a field goal.

NOTES: The Titans offense put on a clinic. Vince Young was 25-32 for 521 yards and 3 touchdowns, while adding 30 rushing yards and a touchdown. Chris Johnson continued to raise eyebrows with another outstanding game. He had 138 rushing yards on 15 carries and 1 touchdown. He really shined catching passes out of the backfield though, as he caught 10 passes for 212 yards and one touchdown. Also adding touchdowns for the Titans were Nate Washington, Lance Moore, and Maurice Morris. Defensively, Julian Peterson added another sack, along with Derrick Morgan and Jacob Ford. Michael Griffin intercepted his first pass of the year.

Player of the game: For the 2nd straight week, Chris Johnson is our player of the week.
