Titans Come Back for the Win

(Tennessee) - Vince Young rallied the troops with just over a minute left to steal a win from the Raiders. After falling down 13-0 late into the second half, the Titans clawed their way back again and again to grab win #1 on the season. The game was a defensive a struggle up until Oakland scored its first touchdown on a 20 yard run by Reggie Bush to make it 13-0. Right before the half, Chris Johnson took a screen pass to the house to make the halftime score 13-7. The Titans owned the 3rd quarter, scoring on a 43 yard run by Maurice Morris, and a 72 yard run by Chris Johnson. The Titans then amounted a lead of 24-14 going into the 4th quarter. They let the Raiders back into the game with a quick score early in the 4th, and after a long drive, with 1:38 left in the game, the Raiders took the lead 27-24. Faced with a 4th and 10 from their own 18, Vince Young hit Bo Scaife for a huge conversion. The 31 yard pass seemed to spark the offense, and they proceeded to drive right down the throat of Oaklands prevent defense and with 23 seconds left in the game, Young hit Scaife again, for the 4th time on the drive, for an 11 yard touchdown.

NOTES: Chris Johnson had 254 combined yards and 2 touchdowns. Newly acquired Julian Peterson had 5 tackles, 3 sacks, and a forced fumble in his debut with the team. Vince Young went 18-31 with 267 yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. Bo Scaife had 7 receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown. The Titans outgained the Raiders 447 to 335.
