Breaking News : "Chesterfield pair reject contracts and will not join club in 15/16 season"
-Chesterfield manager Stumpf was visibly upset at today's press conference to announce moves the team had made when it was revealed that two building blocks who everyone thought were 99% sure to sign contracts with Chesterfield both informed the club they would reject current offers and not sign a new contract leaving the club. The first shocker was when ST A.Gnanduillet 23/63 rejected 3 contract offers to stay with Chesterfield. Many thought the 23 yr old had a perfect situation with Lavery leaving and Chesterfield needing scoring options he would get plenty of chances to earn playing time. Instead ST A.Gnanduillet rejected all the offers and had his agent tell Chesterfield is is going to test the waters as a free agent.
"The second shock came late last nite when LM J.Gyau 22/67 also turned down various contract offers from Chesterfield. Stumpf worked hard to get Bort Dortmund to agree to a fee for Chesterfield to buy J.Gyau after his loan ended if he signed a contract and Chesterfield notified Bort Dortmund they would be using the loan to buy fee and began contract negotiations. Gyau informed the club he was not interested in signing with Chesterfield as he was homesick for Germany , Chesterfield even offered him a big wage bump to convince him to stay but he decided to instead reject the contract offers and rejoin Bort Dortmund and Chesterfield were informed this morning by Bort Dortmund that since there was no contract agreement with Gyau the option to buy was terminated and Gyau flew back to Germany."
Departing Club:
-ST A.Gnanduillet 23/63 Rejected Contract offers. Decided to become free agent.
-LM J.Gyau 22/67 Loan ended. Rejected contract, loan to buy cancelled joined parent club Bort Dortmund
-LM B.Beresford 19/57-Contract not offered . Became a free agent.
-RB J.Massey -18/51 Contract not offered. Became a free agent.
-CB L.Maguire -18/ 51 Contract not offered . Became a free agent.
-CDM J.Ryan 26/67 Contract expired, precontract started joined Bristol City.
-RB D.Talbot 28/60 Contract expired, precontract started joined Shrewsbury.
***************
Staying/Joining Club:
- CB C.Raglan resigned with Chesterfield
- RM J.Gatt 23/70 Contract with Molde FK ended. Precontract with Chesterfield begins.
- RB I.Balliu 23/67 Contract with FC Arouca ended. Precontract with Chesterfield begins.
- RW C.Rios 17/64 signed from youth academy. Talented playmaker from Brazil.
"Gatt, Balliu , and Rios were introduced to media as the newest additions hoping to keep Chesterfields run of success going"
Season 2 Preview
Season Outlook from Chesterfield Insider:
" Chesterfield now face the reality of last years Championship run as both leading scorer ST C.Lavery and leading assist man CDM J.Ryan left the club officially this week. Lavery was expected as he was on loan but the team never expected him to play at such a high level and the other part that will hurt is Chesterfield will face Lavery and his club Sheff We'd in league play this year. J.Ryan had a great season and with that Chesterfield couldn't offer him the wages Bristol City did and so the former captain will not join the club in the FL Championship but stay in League 1 with Bristol. Shock departures of ST A.Gnanduillet and LM J.Gyau do leave the team a bit thin at attacking options. Gnanduillet was supposed to be a target man and was on loan all last season so Manager Stumpf was excited to see him in person and with the parent club. J.Gyau loss means Stumpf will need to also find some speed to go along with goal scoring attackers in the transfer window. Chesterfield should be looking to bolster their attack, team speed and depth at CDM as the top priorities for the transfer window.
Chesterfield were able to bring in some reinforcements with precontract agreements with RM J.Gatt from Molde FK and RB I.Balliu from FC Arouca. The team will need its young players to gotno I to develop if they want to be very competitive. Youth players G.Botelho, S.Douglas, and C.Rios give Chesterfield hope for the future and will be loaned out to grow. Chesterfield did resign CB C.Raglan to sure up the backline. Plenty of youngsters from last year will be counted on again this year to fill voids left by departures. Chesterfield did save some money with players leaving and from winning last years League 1 Championship but they will still need to spend wisely as it takes a couple years for teams at the highest levels to be financially sound while still avoiding being relegated. There should be some hungry young talent and maybe some cheap veterans to add but don't expect any superstars Chesterfield fans as we are still building. So early rumors are Board is allowing Stumpf to only spend the max of $3.0m on a transfer fee for one player. We will need to see the moves made by end of summer window to see what chances Chesterfield have in the Championship this year."

Start Season 2 Offseason Transactions
Chesterfield News: June 1st
"ST C.Lavery ended his stay at Chesterfield and the teams leading scorer has returned to his parent club Sheff Wednesday who Chesterfield will meet in the FL Championship regular season.
Next to leave was CDM R.Humphreys who started his official retirement last week from the club but has said fans might still see him at games or practices every now and then."
The team will turn to their own upcoming players with contracts ending before the season starts.
The team already knows it will lose CDM J.Ryan and RB D.Talbot as they have already signed with new teams on precontracts but can't officially leave until July 1st.
The team will have to decide on the rest of the free agents below and most pundits have ST A.Gnanduillet , CB C.Raglan and RB J.Massey as the top players they will offer contracts to lock up before July 1."
Upcoming Expiring Contracts/Free Agents:
-CB C.Raglan 22/63
-ST A.Gnanduillet 23/63
-LM B.Beresford 19/57
-RB J.Massey 18/ 51
-CB L.Maguire 18/ 51
-CDM J.Ryan -departing on pre contract to Bristol City July 1
-RB D.Talbot -departing on pre contract to Shrewsbury July 1
Loan to Buy Decision
- LM. J.Gyau 22/67 Chesterfield has option to buy if they can sign him to contract or he returns to Bort Dortmund like a regular loan ended.
"The team will also have to make a decision on LM J.Gyau as they can buy him from Bort Dortmund as they previously agreed on a loan to buy transfer amount last transfer window. Chesterfield should try to sign the speedy attacker as he is not that expensive and he can help with increased competition moving up a league and with Chesterfield having it's leading scorer C.Lavery and leading assist man J.Ryan both departing the club by July 1st they will need to find replacements"
"Two players Chesterfield already signed and will join on July 1st are RM J.Gatt and RB I.Balliu so there are reinforcements on the way"
Pre Contract Players Signed: Joining July 1
RM J.Gatt 23/70 from Molde FK
RB I.Balliu 23/67 from FC Arouca
