Game 21
Los Angeles Clippers
at
Washington Wizards
Recap:
The Wizards came out of the All-Star break with a few new faces but the team chemistry didn't suffer in the 22 point victory. The game was close after the 1st but when Eric Gordon went down with a broken wrist the Clippers fell apart. Despite the Wizards 15 turnovers they outrebounded the Clippers by nearly 20. If you have control of the ball that much it's hard to lose the game.
Unfortunately for the Wizards, they suffered an injury as well. Newly acquired Danny Granger went down early in the 3rd quarter with a Strained Abdomen. He was playing extremely well up to that point scoring 19 points in only 21 minutes before his injury. He would miss the next 2 weeks. Wizards Player of the Game goes to John Wall for his scoring performance.
Transaction: Due to the injury to Danny Granger the Wizards have signed Donatas Motiejunas from the D-League to fill out the roster.
Award Update: Marcus Jordan was awarded the Rookie of the Month award prior to this game for his performance in February. He averaged 8.2 points and 7.4 assists for the month playing for the injured John Wall.
Game 22
Washington Wizards
at
Dallas Mavericks
Recap:
A banged up Dallas team couldn't stop the Wizards on this night. With Chris Paul and Josh Childress both nursing injuries the Mavericks bench couldn't pick up the slack. Dallas is still fighting for a playoff spot so they couldn't afford to rest their players.
Tyler Zeller gets the Wizards Player of the Game honors in this one, putting up one of his best games of the season. Josh Smith flirted with the triple double again but was still unable to complete the accomplishment.
Game 23
Golden State Warriors
at
Washington Wizards
Recap:
Washington was unable to defend their home court against the Warriors, ending their winning streak at 3 games. After falling down by 9 at halftime, the Wizards were able to fight back into the game and eventually send it into overtime when John Wall hit a step-back jumper with 14 seconds to go. They would go on to lose in overtime behind Jason Terry's go ahead 3 pointer with 8 seconds to play.
John Wall gets the Wizards Player of the Game honors for his outstanding play. The most encouraging stat of his night was the 0 turnovers. Wall has struggled with turnovers his entire career and this is the 1st time this season he has played a game without turning the ball over.
Transaction: Danny Granger will be healthy enough to play in the next game and as a result Donatas Motiejunas was sent back down to the D-League.
Game 24
Washington Wizards
at
Chicago Bulls
Recap:
Danny Granger's return went as planned for the Wizards. The Wizards jumped out to a big lead in the 2nd quarter and coasted into halftime. Chicago tried to fight back in the 3rd but it wasn't enough as Washington held on for a win.
Wizards Player of the Game goes to Danny Granger for his performance. He was the leading rebounder in the game and 2nd to only John Wall in scoring. Performances like this from what people call the "third wheel" will make the Wizards a scary opponent for anyone in the playoffs.
Game 25
Washington Wizards
at
New Jersey Nets
Recap:
The Bench came to play in this contest, leading Washington to another win. In Jared Sullinger's first game against the Wizards since he was dealt away at the deadline last year, it was a flash from the past for the Wizards fans. He doesn't appear to have progressed at all since then, getting rebounds but showing a lack of ability to do anything on the offensive end.
Josh Smith gets Wizards Player of the Game for his shutdown of the inept Sullinger. Smith matched Sullinger in rebounds, but out-shined him in every other category proving Washington made the right call to move Sullinger and grab Smith in free agency.
Team Record through 25 games: 15-10
Look Ahead:
Only 4 games remain the regular season. Washington only needs to win 1 to clinch a playoff spot but obviously they would like to get the highest seed possible. Winning the division and conference has been out of the question for most of the season as Miami has already clinched both, holding a 22-4 record currently with 3 games to play.
The Wizards look to clinch right away against rival Cleveland, who are the worst team in the NBA.

Wizards Player of the Game goes to Danny Granger for his performance. He was the leading rebounder in the game and 2nd to only John Wall in scoring. Performances like this from what people call the "third wheel" will make the Wizards a scary opponent for anyone in the playoffs.

Last 4 Games:
- April 8th @ Cleveland Cavaliers
- April 10th @ New Orleans Hornets
- April 13th vs Miami Heat
- April 17th @ Atlanta Hawks
