Recap:

Needing only 1 win to clinch a playoff berth, the Wizards dominated rival Cleveland to push the win streak to 3 games and lock up a spot in the playoffs. Perry Jones was unstoppable though, handling double teams with ease, scoring almost half of his teams points. Danny Granger went down with an injury again early in the 2nd quarter. His fragility is quickly becoming a concern. Although a minor injury, he was kept out of the rest of the game to make sure hes 100% for the playoffs.

Marcus Jordan won Wizards Player of the Game, playing great at Shooting Guard the entire second half as Washington elected to go with a smaller lineup. He scored a career high 13 points and also had his greatest shooting performance of his young career.

Recap:

The win streak is now at a season high 4 games for Washington. New Orleans showed a fighting spirit but they were just no match without Emeka Okafor. The Hornets are just ready for this season to end so they can continue rebuilding post-Chris Paul.

John Wall will get Wizards Player of the Game for his efficient shooting in all areas as well as his high assist mark. Wall is playing the best basketball of his career in all areas of the game, scoring at will and getting his teammates involved as well. Josh Smith narrowly missed a triple double for the 5th time this season.

Recap:

A statement Win for Washington heading into the playoffs. Miami is by far the best team in the NBA this season and the Wizards were out to prove they are good enough to contend as well. The Refs didn't seem to want that to happen, as Washington was held without a free throw attempt until 4 minutes to play in the game.

The bench didn't see much action for Washington. John Wall clearly will win Player of the Game after scoring 49 points and coming close to a triple double in the biggest test of the regular season. Wall seems to come up huge when the spotlight is on him, which is a great sign in such a young player.

Recap:

Needing only a win to clinch 2nd place in the East, with a loss dropping them to as low as 5th, the Wizards needed to win this game to secure an ideal matchup in the first round. Unfortunately, Danny Granger was dinged up yet again and held out most of the second half. John Wall and Josh Smith couldn't do it alone, and Washington fell to Atlanta in the final game of the regular season. Playoff seeding is now up in the air.

Player of the Game will goes to Josh Smith for coming close to a triple double for the 6th time this season. It sounds like a broken record, one that Smith eventually hopes to break and actually achieve a triple double. Wizards fans hope this comes in the playoffs.

Final Thoughts

Although the Wizards fell to the 5th seed, they drew a favorable matchup. They will face the Indiana Pacers in the first round. The Pacers are seen as the weakest division winner so the Wizards are thankful to draw them. Danny Granger is eager to face his old team and show them they made a mistake choosing Paul George over him. The winner of this series will face the winner of a tough Miami vs Chicago matchup.
