How Much Do Player Tendencies Effect The A.I. And Will NBA 2k Ever Edit Them Right?

We've watching various gameplay videos and 2k have said that the A.I is the best we have seen it but by what standards. Every year we see things like

PLAYER TENDENCIES

-Bigs who dont shoot much do turnaround fadeaways b/c for some reason their hop shot and fadeaway tendency is up.

-Players doing to much dribbling in iso situations which end in taking the shot clock and ending in an contested shot or a bad forced shot.

-Bigs doing crossovers b/c their dribble moves and setup dribbles moves are jacked.(All players period)

-Players who hardly ever dunk and cant dunk, dunk more than they do layups partly b/c their dunk tendencies are up not including the jacked up ratings for guards who stand dunk etc. which is a different story.

-Players use iso more than the pick and roll game(this is a pick n roll league in which mostly EVERYTHING is created off pick n rolls and the gameplay videos I've watched, point guards like cp3 and fowards like lebron iso way more than they utilize the pick n roll game) I hardly ever seen picks in the spurs gameplay by the cpu which was crazy.

It would be better to watch a full game but notice how many times pick n roll is utilized and creates for others and the dribbler and what is done before and after the screen vs iso, also how quick and decisive the iso's are with dribble moves and shots.










-Players draw foul tendency sometimes to low

-Bigs like dwight being called for more blocking fouls than shooting fouls and at the same damn time being knocked to the floor by small guards.(online you can control the big in the paint and they sometimes force you in a charge position, blocking foul.)

-No variety in running hooks by bigs

-A throw in is that we have running floaters but there are no stationary floaters, hop or jumpstep floaters like kawhi leonard or dwades.

The list goes on

Im starting to think that when 2k says a player plays like they do in real life they are not talking about specifics. They might say lebron james or carmelo will try to score and be more aggressive BUT, How will they try to score and create is the question.

Lebron doesnt spam the paint and try to score everytime he goes around a pick, he will pass and probe the defense and so will dwade. They also do not iso, iso, iso all the time then force a shot. Everything is quick and decisive. Even the role players use picks just as much in the same manner accept dwade and lebron controls the ball more and runs the offense. In 2k the star players doesnt create as much as they should for the teams offense b/c for one it doesnt come back to their hands when the play breaks down.

The spurs spam pick n rolls in real life lol. Manu and Tony Parker dominate the ball and run pick n roll all day. Tony likes to pull up off the pick but in 2k you hardly if at all see this b/c in 2k he likes to spot up more than work and take shots off the dribble. Manu might stepback into a three off of a pick, They both like to chase the ball. Tim duncan runs the pick n pop or uses them to get to his spots on the floor for a post up or whatever, when he isolates he will give a couple jabs before he shoots.

In 2k star players alot of times do not touch the ball enough especially when they should have the ball. At the end of the shot clock danny green is doing dribble moves trying to create his own shot and score? I dont even think I've seen more than one pick and role play per possession in this game....?

Some players will occasionally pullup in transition for a three or even use a transition pick(Melo), some will do a couple quick decisive dribble moves into a pullup(jamal crawford).

The point I'm getting at is the way tendencies are edited do not replicate how players like to get their points and create in specific detail. I dont even know if some tendencies even have any kind of effect on the game and are just their for show(fadeawy tendency at 100.....dont work). I do know that if the A.I is really improved then if melo's tendencies are edited right then it should know how to replicate a better Carmelo that really plays like Melo so if fadeaway is at 100 that means the A.I should be smart enough to recognize that and do a got dam fadeaway thats all.

Hopefully in the future or really in this years updated rosters 2k will finally fully edit the game right as far as tendencies, colors, accessories, plays, ratings, signature moves etc. b/c like I always say these roster makers be on it EDITING EVERYTHING better than the ppl who made the game dare I say! So if 2k isnt going to do it and think its not that important they need to hire some of these guys and have a team of them do it b/c they put in hours to do it for fun.
