CFB25 needs to unlock editing:

Months ago, I made a list of predictions of what would go wrong with CFB25 should we not have full editing like we always had before. Let's go over the list again, now that the game has released and see how it's working out ------



1. NCAA14 still exists, as do the previous versions of the game with far other NIL players that can be edited / created and used. No lawsuits or complaints have arisen regarding those games that continue to be sold (and their price tags increased exponentially). These games are all over the internet to watch – for free. This is still the case. CFB Revamped is going strong.

2. CFB Revamped is built off of NCAA14 specifically, everyone knows it, and for next to a decade, no litigation or complaints at all have been made regarding player creation, full on editing, team uniform mods, roster sharing to extents, etc. etc. etc. These games are all over the internet to watch – for free. Again, the game goes on without issues.

3. Madden games have for the entirety of the NIL era been allowing the creation / editing of these same NIL players per draft class rosters, and the roster sharing has been unlimited. How is this any different? The games played with them are all over the internet to watch – for free. I just created a new draft class two days ago.
No lawsuits.


4. If I can’t change ratings to at least be middling, as I go into a Dynasty with the desire to rebuild a team, how long before I get fired because I have players that suck? Well, no clue because you can be 6-6 Alabama and still make the playoffs in this broken game.
I don't know if it'll fire anyone at this point.


5. If I can’t change ratings to somewhat better have players match my desire to change schemes / playbooks, again, how long before I get fired? See above.

6. If I can’t change ratings at all in Dynasty, as in, all I can ever do is rely on the ratings as decided by EA devs (ugh), then how long do you expect that I’m going to play this game, especially if I’m not a fan of what will obviously be just a handful of loaded teams full of stars / star ratings? It took two days for folks to start complaining about not being able to edit recruits any.

7. (the same above, but) how long before any of the online players / streamers get tired of playing as only one of the handful of loaded teams – maybe never getting to play as their true favorites? The opposite occurred but still backfired. Kennesaw State can net you 5 star recruits with ease. Although, people do tire quickly of not ever making the playoffs and reset to a power team dynasty instead.

8. If I can’t change ratings or player edits to teams that are suddenly way better than the ratings only EA devs were able to decide, then how long do you think it’ll be before people are fed up waiting on EA devs to fix ratings, and instead, folks just stop playing the game? Again, two days is all it took for people to start clamoring for updated rosters and crapping on player ratings as BS.

9. If this game is going to have MUT, isn’t that changing ratings and abilities to players? We're still waiting to see what even happens.

10. If this game is going to have MUT, how long before the sim / dynasty community gets fed up, as EA devs have a long track record of revising those ratings and such, quite speedily compared to ever changing rosters / ratings / abilities for the sim crowd – how long do you expect it’ll take before the sim crowd quits playing the game? Waiting to find out.

11. If I can’t change ratings or player edits, doesn’t that directly go against the primary thing that all game developers desire – replay ability? As I guessed, the only replay ability that's consistent is people tiring of a team after one and half seasons on average and just starting over as any other new team for hopeful, better differences. This won't last.

12. If you are blocking the editing ability of NIL players and/or the mock up CAP of said players, does that mean that we will never for the cycle of that player ever get to have a player on the opposite side of the ball wearing that jersey number? The opposite has occurred allowing three players the same jersey number, even.

13. If I can completely create every player, any team, etc. using the Teambuilder option – what’s the difference? This is apparently possible and is quite the contradiction.

14. If the protecting of NIL players is such a big deal, no editing can be made, then are the star bulk of them going to have scripted goings on? I’m absolutely going to be paying attention to rather a coded type of favoritism. The fact that the star loaded teams still get into the playoffs with horrible records/losses seems to point out scripting going on.

15. If I can’t edit ratings or abilities, and if this new Wear / Tear system is glitched like crazy – even if just the injury/toughness/stamina ratings are horrible – not allowing any of us to tune things to fix whatever issues, then how long before folks just quit playing the game? Wear and tear apparently is nothing to even worry about. It's not working well.

16. If we can switch teams to any conference, said teams start to really stink and lose a lot, and if these games are streamed online for all to see, how is that not also considered an edit and giving whatever NIL kids a bad look? Waiting to be seen, but what is known already is, any team can be streamed online with unrealistic results entirely.

17. If at any time the game decides that some NIL star kids transfer to different colleges (prestigious or horrible ones, either way), and if these games are streamed online for all to see, how is that not also considered an edit and giving said NIL kids a bad look? People hate this already, especially because of jersey number issues that no one can edit to fix.

I'm going to keep adding to this as the year goes on. I didn't want to be right about even a portion of this, but here we are.
