NFL teams represented on Madden covers and every other video game in the last 30 yrs
Posted on May 6, 2014 at 07:36 AM.
This started as a post to see which teams were underrepresented on the Madden covers in the thread for the Madden 15 cover vote announcement. I ended up being curious about team representation beyond just Madden, so I decided to post an extended version of my post as this blog. Hope you all enjoy and let me know if I missed any cover players.

This is pretty long, skip to the end for the final tally or read just below for only the Madden information.

PS- I know I have way too much time on my hands...

WOW....great work, great read, great job.

Wow. Pretty impressive research. Very odd to not have seen my Cowboys on the cover of any video games but that could also have to do with that they haven't been relevant (i.e. winners) in almost 2 decades.

not sure how big of a picture you are looking at when thinking of madden covers, but the Madden 97 cover had Reggie White as a Packer going against a Colt player in the upper right hand corner, kind of a faded picture, not sure if that is something you were looking at

I also noticed that Madden 96 had a picture of a Carolina Panthers player tackling a Jacksonville Jaguar player. (the year both franchised started)
