Torn between games
Posted on October 25, 2010 at 09:26 PM.
I'm really stuck right now trying to decide on which game I want to buy: EA MMA or WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011. I have been a pro wrestling fan for over 20 years, played all the older wrestling games, but haven't played a SVR game in 4 years, as I felt the game was stale.

I am intrigued by WWE Universe Mode, which is like an active GM/Season Mode. However, I'm concerned that not enough has changed with the gameplay to keep it interesting.

Then there's EA MMA. I am a big MMA fan, even trained for several years, and played UFC 2009 and really enjoyed it. I skipped out on 10 as I didn't like the demo and the impressions here weren't very good. EA's game sounds promising, but again, I'm worried that there's not enough to sustain me (I'm an offline gamer) past a couple of weeks.

So guys, weigh in on which game, EA MMA or SVR 11, will give me the biggest bang for my buck?

EA MMA is fun and the career mode is alot more fun than some people may want to give it credit for. I'm going through it quick, but I'm playing it on a low difficulty to get used to the controls. It looks good and handles well and if you would want to go through the weight classes and make each fighter different, you can prolong the play. It's a great party game with friends, we played it for several hours last week.

Man, I'm having a blast with EA MMA! As mentioned, the career mode is pretty fun, and on the Hard difficulty (it goes up one more to legend) I'm having some very, very competitive fights. My fighter dominates on the ground, but isn't the greatest in stand-up or BJJ. I won the lightweight championship pretty easlily against a pretty highly rated fighter who wasn't as good on the ground. Then lost my 1st title defense to a low rated fighter who specialized in BJJ when he caught me in a triangle choke. Honestly, I could see myself creating a fighter for every weight class and play through the career mode with each. To me, this game is a keeper not to be traded in.
