Every year before the release of any sports game, the cover athlete becomes all the uproar. The last time I was geeked up about the cover was 2K12. As a Celtic fan I had to have Bird, with all due respect to the G.O.A.T, Michael Jordan and the greatest point guard of all time, Magic Johnson. Although I consider 2K13 the Holy grail because I was able to complete my All Time rosters, it was a bit of a let down with the inability to shot block, and the RIDICULOUS DECISION OF 2K TO HOLD DERRICK "COVER ATHLETE" ROSE out of the updated lineups for the entire season and the next. If 2K were to ever endulge the fans with an NBA 2K LEGACY EDITION, the cover athlete possibilities are limitless. A multi-player cover would be the only way to go.
For sure, a cover of this magnitude would be the biggest ever. Certainly the cover would have to include some or all of the past cover athletes. Players like Iverson, Big Ben, Shaq, CP3, KG, Kobe, M.J., Bird, Magic, Rose, Blake, Durant, and Lebron are all good candidates. A few other NBA greats are well deserving such as Bill Russell, Jerry "the Logo" West, Wilt, Kareem, Dr. J, and Hakeem "the Dream" Olajuwon. I am uploading a picture to my screenshots from deviantart.com of an evolution pyramid drawing of Michael Jordan that I think woud be perfect for a cover. Instead of right side up, upside down with Russell and West shouldering the images of the other cover athletes to show the NBA's ascension as well as 2K's. Tell me your thoughts so far in the comments section?
