Bulls Survive Home Opener

Score: 28-21 Creatine
This game went down to the wire with Bobby Hebert throwing the winning touchdown to Jackie Smith (33 Yards) with 19 seconds left in the game. The game was a shootout where both teams shared the lead at one point in the game.

The offense for the Bees was very pass heavy, only running with Charley Taylor a handful of times. Bart Starr had a great game going 16 for 24 for 266 yards, 3 TD's and 1 INT. James Lofton shredded the Bulls defense catching 6 balls for 160 yards and a TD.

For the Bulls Bobby Hebert opened the season with a bang going 12 for 19 for 232 yards 2 TD's and 0 INT's. Marcus Allen had 83 yards on 18 carries and 2 TD's on the ground. He also contributed with 6 catches for 74 yards. He had 157 total offensive yards on the day.

On the defensive side of the ball for the Bulls Mel Renfro led the team in tackles with 5 and also had a pass defended. Lem Barney had a solid game picking up 4 solo tackles and 2 passes defended.

For the Bees Carnell Lake led the team in tackles with 5 and Dexter Manley grabbed a crucial sack.

In the end the Bees lack of balance on offense cost them. It took away the thread of the run and allowed the Bulls to focus on the passing game. It still took a clutch late game drive to win it.
