Iron Pull off Shocker at Home Against Great Whites

(note: Because of technical issues I don't have exact stats to describe and my memory may not be 100% correct.)

Jim Hart failed all game. His confidence was shot. He threw 3 interceptions, and really choked at the important times. Chris Warren broke 1 big run for a TD and that was it. The Iron were playing very sloppy on offense and the defense just couldn't keep bailing them out.

4th quarter = 14-7 Iron

Steve Young spent nearly the fourth quarter driving the Great Whites down the field, and he ended up tying the game 14-14. Big catches were made by all the WR's, and I believe Thigpen caught the tying TD on 3rd and 10 from about the 15. It was a very nice patient drive.

Overtime: 14-14

In overtime the Iron win the toss. First play was a big gain... 20 yard screen pass. The very next play Jim Hart throws right into Woodson's zone and he gets a HUGE interception. Steve Young stays on his feet and dissects the Iron's downtrodden defense with ease and marches the Great Whites inside the 20 and the game into the hands of their kicker, who has struggled all season. The wind was blowing 2 MPH to the right... C-bus moves the arrow slightly left and..... WIDE LEFT! The Iron's perfect season stays alive!

Jim Hart then sneaks a pass barely by Mcafee to Dwight Clark for a 50+ yard gain to make it about a 30-35 yard field goal for Al Del Greco. Coach Creatine immediately chooses to kick the field goal and not risk running any more plays with his apparent turnover-happy offense. Right through the uprights, Del Greco was true!

Final: 17-14 Iron in OT

I was beat this game. No way around it. C-bus outplayed me and that's that. The missed FG was still his fault, though and I still capitalized... but he definitely outplayed me.

Either way, the Iron steal a victory from the clutches of defeat and remain undefeated! This last stretch of games is going to be difficult. I can tell.
