Iron Stay Hot in Charlotte

The Pittsburgh Iron jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter, giving the Savages a single possession which resulted in a punt. The offense was efficient and the defense was fierce. MVP frontrunner Barry Sanders was held to 100 yards on 22 carries and did not score rushing for the first time this season. He still threw a great touchdown pass out of a wildcat variation. Average starting field position: Iron: Own 46 Savages: Own 21.

The Iron's Jim Hart had another efficient performance going 7 for 10 for 120 yards, 2 TD's, 0 INT's, and 0 sacks. Both of Dwight Clark's catches were touchdowns and he finished as the leading reciever with 69 yards. Chris Warren played knicked up with his elbow injury and did not show a bit of weakness. He pounded out 136 yards on 15 carries including 2 TD's and a season high 10 broken tackles (who said silver RB's suick?!)!

For the Savages the previously mentioned Sanders was the workorse on the ground. Krieg wen 7 for 14 for 113 yards 0 TD's or INT's and was sacked twice. Eric Green had a great game snagging 3 balls for 87 yards.

The Iron's defense played exactly how they expected to. Torrin Curry continued his dominance tallying 7 solo sackles, 3 of which were for a loss. Lambert was all over the field and finished up with 8 total tackles including 1 for a loss. Randy White had his 4th straight game with at least a sack... getting 2 sacks and 4 tackles total, 3 total for a loss. White has 7 sacks in the past 4 games. When the front 7 are dominating in tackles you know it was a good day of defense.

For the Savages Tim Moody led in tackles with 8 and Dave Butz grabbed the team's only tackle for a loss. The Savages were very hobbled without their FB Woods and their star Guard Little. Time of possession was even and that's a bad sign for the Savages. That's usually something they lead in by a large margin when things are working their way.

GG Duce I'll probably see you in the playoffs!
