Iron Roll in Early Season Rout

This game opened just like a track meet, chalking up three scores in the first three plays. From then on Iron dominated every facet of the game aside from Special teams. Al Del Greco played terribly in 10 MPH winds kicking 1 of 3 FG's and missing an extra point.

The Iron accumulated 400 yards of total offense achieving supreme balance. They had 200 yards passing and 200 yards rushing. Chris Warren led the charge with 205 yards on 21 carries including 2 touchdowns. Jim Hart had a career day going 13 of 15 for 218 yards, 2 TD's, 0 INT's and was never sacked! The top performer for the Stampeders on offense was Herman Moore who tallied up 4 catches for 45 yards. Tasker took his first kick return back 105 yards for a TD.

On the defensive side of the ball the Iron's leading tackler was Lambert with 6. Both Albert Lewis and Dick Anderson picked up their first interceptions of the season. Dick Lane led the Stampeders in tackles with 7 and Spielman had a solid game picking up 6 solo tackles including two for a loss.

Things were going the Iron's way on nearly every play. At one point a 3rd down throw to the fullback was tipped and Dwight Clark caught it past the first down marker to continue the drive. What really hit the Stampeders hard was two agressive defensive playcalls which were both cover 0 that ended up being 50+ yard touchdowns. APF punishes that and he had a real tough time fighting that momentum the remainder of the game.

The Stampeders will definitely have some reflecting to do if they want to turn their season around. Luckily it's still VERY early.
