MLB 2k9 cost me 500 bucks!!
Posted on March 25, 2009 at 03:42 PM.
MLB 2k9 is by far the most expensive game for me. I bought it the day it came out, could not wait to start playing it, having heard about all the things that were supposed to be fixed.

Well, long story short, I have never hated a game so much in my life. And since baseball is my absolute favorite thing to play, I now have to buy a PS3, so I can now play ball with the big boys. No more bush leagues for me, I am getting called up to The Show. And I am not looking back.

I agree with Cras about MLB2K9... This game is easily the most disappointing game ive ever bought.. To spend $65 on a game that has no collision detection, basic programming flaws in something as simple as a 1st baseman stepping on a bag???? Every baseball game ive played has had some kind of wall glitch, dating all the way back to games like hardball 2,3,4,5,6 and even baseball on the intellivision before some of u were even born.. but the stuff that goes on in this game CHANGE THE OUTCOME by allowing baserunners and runs that are directly glitch related.. I also noticed that these glitches seem to happen to the human controlled team and almost never to the cpu team.????

I had the same PS3 thoughts after playing this.. Also remember this is their 3rd next gen attempt with this game.. the 07 game was ok but the truth is, they are either very poor at game design or they just dont give a damn and are out for the yearly $65 money grab. We need to stop buying games like this that fellow gamers who had already bought it TOLD US IT SUCKED. These exclusive licenses are nothing more than a license to get away with making ****ty games for a captive audience who has no other baseball games to choose from.

Just bought a PS3 on Monday night with my tax return money. Never really thought about getting one either, until a feeks ago. When a few things happened.

Got 2K9 on shipping day, super excited, ready for that next gen console baseball that as a 360 user, have not really had yet. Played about 20-25 games during a week's span. I found the game to be enjoyable, however there was just something missing. Glitches and all, I feel like a patch will make this an above average baseball title. There was just something in the back of my mind, a little voice, that started last year, was ignore and came back. That voice saying......."you should get The Show, you should get a PS3. I even didn't want to read reviews on The Show, b/c I knew that would only make that voice grow stronger. Then.......

I read everything about The Show and about a week after release, convinced myself I needed a P3. Althought I don't feel like 2K9 is horrible, if you are a serious gamer and love baseball, The Show is a must have. It really is. I have both games. 2K9 does a great job with presentation, commentary is great. The post game highlights are cool. However, once you play The Show, you will be blown away, and I'm not just saying that. I'm 26 years old, having been playing video game baseball since I was 10, and in the past 16 years, this is the best game I have played period. Not sports game. Game. I have the major league baseball package through DirecTV. Watch about 120-130 Red Sox games a year, along with other games. The Show is the first video game that truly, and acurately represents Major Leauge Baseball....to the fullest. It mixes great gameplay with amazing graphics, the first time this has been done on that kind of level with next gen sports consoles.

I understand the economic situation, I dropped 560 total on my PS3. But being 26, with a full-time, pretty good paying job, I could do it. Convincing my fiance was the hardest part, but I put enough money away towards our weeding that I earned my right to get it. When the patch comes out for 2K9, it will be a very solid baseball game. However, The Show is the greatest game I have played in my life period. Just my 2cents......

MLB 09: The Show is worth the money imo.

You could have saved yourself a little money, hell lets be honest a lot of money, by buy the Show 09 for the PS2. Sure the graphics are very last gen, and there a a few (VERY FEW) graphically bugs in the PS2 version, but the game is the same. All the inclusions of PS3 upgrades, except for the lighting, huge hit variety, real physics off the bat. Its great, and I get it all cheap. The PS2 version of the game.... 29.99.

I've played 360 since launch and love the system..online and everything. I have also bought MLB 2K baseball the last few years, and it was a huge disappointed.

I decided to buy a PS3 for The Show and different games. I very happy with the purchase. Metal Gear is a great game, love Hot Shots also. the PS3 is a great system which I play alot

i'm pretty much like most people here, got a PS3 out of frustration. I consider myself somewhat of a "gamer", but baseball is #1 hands down. To go another year without a baseball game? give me a break.

The only thing that bothers me about the PS3 is the lack of add-on's for GTA 4 and Fallout 3...WTF is that all about?
