The Sixers posted a win in an exciting game, defeating the powerful Knicks by a score of 151-148, a night after losing to the same team.
Much credit for the win goes to back up SF Damien Wilkins, who posted 34 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists in 26 minutes on the floor.
"I was pleasantly surprised by Damien's breakout performance tonight." says Coach Doug Collins, shortly following the game. "He gave Evan Turner a run for his money, and I will definitely be giving Wilkins the start next game."
Another impressive performance in the game came from Jrue Holiday, who finished with 29 points and 16 assists, a career high. Andrew Bynum also posted a double double, finishing with 17 points and 12 rebounds.
This game marked the debuts of newly acquired players Courtney Lee and Brandon Bass.
"I think we can both agree that Philadelphia is a great city." notes Brandon Bass. "Courtney and I already seem to fit in with the team, and I will give whatever it takes for this franchise to win a championship."
The Knicks also had a few great performances, with JR Smith and Carmelo Anthony finishing with 38 and 37 points, respectively.
This win leaves the Sixers with a record of 2-1 so far this season. The next game will be Friday night in New Orleans.
