I really wanted you to be great. I thought this year was new. EA I thought you would actually put out more than 1 or 2 patches for probably your most popular game. I believed a new age was coming with bimonthly patches. You can even look at one of my blog posts from October giving EA praise and how I was hoping this would keep up. Boy, was I wrong.

There has not been a patch in 4 months. All we get are roster updates, with only 2 of them being for CCM. I stopped playing Madden a long time ago, at least 2-3 months. I played my fair share of games like I do every year, probably around 70. I thought the game was somewhat fine but just needs to be refined in order to become great. Patches add this refinement, but where are they? What happened to turning over a new leaf and responding to the fans?

I definitely will not be pre-ordering Madden 14. The gaming community has been burned by EA far too much for me to fully support them like I have done in years past. Now I'm not saying Madden 13 is a bad game, EA is just a bad company. Give Madden to a different company, I feel like it could soar and become so much better and not be limited. Two of the best sports games out right now are MLB The Show and NBA 2k (We'll overlook MLB 2k), neither owned by EA. I can't really speak for FIFA since I don't play it that often or NHL since I only own '11 (Though I do like it). Competition is needed for Madden to reach its peak. EA knows that it can send out something not at 100% and it will be eaten up. The NFL is easily one of the largest sports in the US currently, the consumer base is so large how could you fail?

I take back what I said in October about EA being a new company this year with Madden. Nothing has changed and I am sad to say that. It's always "next year" that things will change, but that never happens.
