Mark Hudspeth Resigns, Terrance Malone Hired as New Head Coach
Everyone was shocked Friday night when UL Lafayette head coach Mark Hudspeth announced his decision to resign at a press conference. "I've decided to step down from my coaching position. I feel that I need to and spend more time with my family for a while. I'm sure I'll probably come back to the game someday, but I need a break."
Shortly thereafter, UL Lafayette athletic director, Scott Farmer walked onstage with a special announcement, "Like many of you here, I'm sad to say goodbye to coach Hudspeth, but I'm also pleased to announce the hiring of our new head football coach, Terrance Malone. I believe coach Malone has the ability to establish a winning culture and build a strong football program."
Malone then stepped forward for a few words before the press conference ended, "Good evening everyone. I would like to thank Mr. Farmer for giving me the opportunity to be here. I would also like to wish Coach Hudspeth good luck with whatever his life brings. I look forward to the task ahead of building a college powerhouse here at UL Lafayette. Like Mr. Farmer mentioned, I want to establish a winning culture. I want to teach our players here to win together, as a team, before personal accolades. That will be the number one thing we look for in current players, recruits from high school, and anyone else who wears anything bearing the Ragin Cajun name. LET'S WIN SOME FOOTBALL GAMES!!!!!
