* The Phoenix Suns held the third overall pick in the 2011 NBA Fantasy Draft, and after the Los Angeles Clippers selected Dwight Howard first overall and LeBron James went to the Chicago Bulls, Phoenix was on the clock. Who should be the cornerstone of this franchise? A point guard like Chris Paul, Derrick Rose or Deron Williams might be a good way to go. Or it could be Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony or Kobe Bryant. Phoenix�s answer however, was to go with the small forward who took the University of Texas by storm, Kevin Durant.

After The Durantula had landed in the Valley of the Sun, the 33rd overall selection was Dirk Nowitzki, who helped form a fantastic one-two punch. The rest of the roster filled out as follows:

After a few scouting hires, it was time to open the 2011 season, as Phoenix looks to use it�s revamped, retooled roster to get to that elusive first championship in franchise history. The journey began on Oct. 26 at the Rose Garden in Portland, OR against their Western Conference foes, the Portland Trailblazers.
