Buck Rogers status remains day to day after suffering a strained left shoulder in the Gators week 11 victory over South Carolina. Rogers took all of the snaps with the first team offense and stated to the press that he felt good and will be ready on Saturday. Florida coaches were a little less optimistic stating that they will continue to monitor Rogers health and decide on Saturday whether or not to play him.

Game - FCS Furman at #10 Florida
Buck Rogers did get the start as anticipated and looked pain free as the Gators took the field. Furman was able to hold the Gators to a field goal on their opening drive of the game. Senior HB Scott Smith would break free from 45 yards out to score the games first TD on the next Gator drive. Smith would add another TD early in the second quarter. Furman would respond with a TD of their own to make the score 17-7.

After that, the Gators took control and put the game away late in the second quarter as Smith would score his third TD with just under a minute left and Rogers would connect on a TD pass as the clock expired to make the score 31-7 at halftime.

On the second play of the second half, Smith would take a screen pass from Rogers 58 yards for a TD. Smith would go on to score 2 more rushing TDs and Rogers would add another through the air as the Gators would win easily 66-7.

Scott Smith was named player of the game and also NCAA Player of the Week for his performance finishing with 19 carries for 274 yards and 5 TDs rushing and 2 catches for 65 yards and 1 TD receiving. Rogers finished 14/19 for 308 yards and 3 TDs. This was the first time this season that Rogers did not throw an INT.

The Gators host #18 Florida State in week 13 in a battle for the Governor's Cup.
