Starting from scratch in HC 09

I have decided to back up and punt (to use a football phrase). I have learned alot about how to manage things in hc 09 over the last few weeks. Except for my family and my job...this pretty much takes up the rest of my time.

Tried The Jets...and moved on

Last week started our spring break at school so I wanted a new challenge. I decided to go to the Jets and see what I could do with them. I know...not one of the glamorous teams but kind of like the Rodney Dangerfield of east coast football...no respect. So I spent hours going over the data...cutting the dead weight and trying to build a half way decent coaching staff. My first year went 9-7 and fired just about all of the coaches.

Rebuilding the Browns in HC

I have been a Browns fan my whole life. I still cringe when I hear the phrase "The Drive" and the name of John Elway sticks in my throat (even though I have to admit he was a great player) so after getting familiar with Head Coach I decided to try to take my beloved team all of the way to the Promised Land...the last time they had won the championship was the year I was born so I wanted to see it happen in my lifetime where I could remember it.

Confused by Salary Cap and Goals

Well...I thought I had the salary cap stuff figured out...but I think I confused myself. I had 31 mil left under salary cap but I had 11 players that I wanted to resign so I didnt sign any fa's and got my draft picks to sign low offer sheets (which I always try to do). I signed everybody I wanted to and still ended the year with 11 mil under the cap. I dont know for sure what happened...but hey..I am not complaining. Here it is Friday, the 27th, and I am looking forward to the weekend. I have been able to get around an hour in a night after everyone goes to bed (enough time to pay 1 game and do the management stuff) but it has been going well. I have 2 teams going at the moment...the browns...which I just started...and the panthers who are in the 2nd season. Catching the Footbal Game bug...again

I just started playing sports games again. I was a big fan of Madden during the Nintendo days (yes...I know that was a while ago). Got an xbox for the kids for christmas and my wife got me ncaa football 08 to mess around with. I got hooked!! Went and got Madden 08 used and it to catch the pro bug.
