Comments: Edmonton drafts Taylor Hall’s set up man Nugent-Hopkins has the goods for the NHL game top end speed,hands and vision are second to none also Ryan is a very physical player for his size. Nugent-Hopkins needs to bulk up in order to be a successful NHLer.

2. Colorado- Gabriel Landeskog LW 6-1 207 Kitchener OHL
Comments: Landeskog is solid two way forward with a solid power forward mentally on offense. Gabriel’s leadership skills are his best trait, Landeskog was named the Kitchener Rangers at the age of 17. Landeskog is a tough and strong hitter who looks for contact. Gabriel will play in the NHL next season.

3. Florida- Jonathan Huberdeau C 6-1 168 Saint John QMJHL
Comments: Huberdeau is the player that Florida has been waiting for Huberdeau is a good skater, slick playmaker and good leader on and off the ice. Jonathan drives the net and has soft hands to score goals from close range. Huberdeau has all the tools to be a first center in the NHL but first Jonathan must bulk up.

4. New Jersey- Adam Larsson D 6-3 200 Skelleftea SWE
Comments: Larsson is a solid puck moving defenseman with an accurate shot from the point. Adam is also a positionally sound defenseman in his own zone who can shadow the other teams star player. Adam has played three years in the swedish Elite League so Adam is NHL ready. Larsson must use his size a little more to reach his full potential.

5. NY Islanders- Dougie Hamilton D 6-4 193 Niagara OHL
Comments: Hamilton is a solid hitter with a solid offensive game from the backend never afraid to join the rush with his cannon right handed shot. Dougie also knows when to push the attack and when to stay back. Hamilton is also a great leader and is committed to learning and being the best he can be. Hamilton needs to work his defensive positioning in order to be a top two defenseman.

6. Ottawa- Sean Couturier C 6-4 195 Drummondville QMJHL
Comments: Couturier is strong on the puck uses his size to shield the puck from defenseman, Sean can make plays from anywhere on the ice to set up teammates for goals. Couturier is a solid defensive forward who can play in all situations. Sean is a very good faceoff man as well winning 56% of draws taken. Couturier does need to work on his skating.

7. Winnipeg- Ryan Strome C 6-0 183 Niagara OHL
Comments: Strome is a smooth skater with offensive creativity to burn. Nicknamed the human highlight reel, Ryan loves setting the table and scoring unreal goals. Strome has a great hockey motor Ryan will take and give a hit to make play. Strome could very well vault into the top 5 of the draft. Strome needs to improve his play in the netural and defensive zones.

8. Columbus- Ryan Murphy D 5-11 176 Kitchener OHL
Comments: Murphy is a classic power play QB with a rocket shot and unreal passing skills Murphy can see the play before it happens. Ryan also can lead a rush and Murphy doesn’t forget about his own zone, Ryan is always in great position and rarely gets beat one on one. Ryan needs to bulk to handle NHL power forwards.

9. Boston (From Tor)- Duncan Siemens D 6-3 197 Saskatoon WHL
Comments: Siemens game is about being physical after all, Duncan lists Scott Stevens as his favorite player. Siemens also will stick up for his teammates by fighting as well. Duncan also handles the puck well, Siemens makes a great first pass and also shoots the puck hard and low so that it can be tipped in for a goal. Duncan needs to pick his spots to make a hit so that he doesn’t get out of position.

10. Minnesota- Sven Bartschi LW 5-11 175 Portland WHL
Comments: Bartschi is blazing fast with a deadly shot, Sven has a high hockey IQ and can make plays from anywhere on the ice. Bartschi gets to the dirty areas in the offensive zone and score from in close. Sven needs to be more physical and work on his defensive positioning.

11. Colorado (From Stl)- Nathan Beaulieu D 6-2 185 Saint John QMJHL
Comments: Beaulieu is a great all round defensive prospect who makes great first passes and has great skating ability. Nathan also plays a good brand of shutdown defense using strong gap control and using his stick very well. Nathan also plays with an edge and delivers thundering body checks. Beaulieu needs to simplify his game and not do too much at the NHL level.

12. Carolina- Mark McNeill C 6-1 204 Prince Albert WHL
Comments: McNeill plays a strong two way game, Mark plays with a ton of grit and works hard in the his own zone. McNeill has good offensive skills as well, Mark worked the point on the first power play unit. Mark is an extremely versatile player who played all three forward positions. McNeill needs to shoot more and Mark needs to improve his skating ability.

13. Calgary- Joseph Morrow D 6-1 196 Portland WHL
Comments: Morrow is a offensive gifted defenseman who leads and joins rushes. Joe possesses a strong shot and makes a good first pass. Morrow is farm boy strong he delivers strong hits in his own zone and plays strong defense. Joe needs to play more consistently and play a strong game all game long.

14. Dallas- Jamie Oleksiak D 6-7 244 Northeastern HE
Comments: Oleksiak is a texas sized defenseman with good skating ability and the ability to chip in offensively with a hard shot. Jamie plays good defense with his long wingspan and snarl to keep his opposites at bay and worried about his next move. Jamie needs to work on his shooting accuracy.

15. NY Rangers- Mika Zibanejad C 6-2 191 Djurgarden SWE
Comments: Mika has top end speed makes good passes, Mika also back checks and fore checks very hard and is a headache to play again. Zibanejad has goal scoring potential with a heavy shot and soft hands. Mika does remain a bit of a mystery only playing 27 games once in his career and scoring 12 goals so it does remain to be seen what kind of player Mika will be.

16. Buffalo- Zack Phillips C 6-1 181 Saint John QMJHL
Comments: Zack is an excellent two way forward, Phillips works well in tight spaces on offense and defense. Zack is strong on puck in defensive zone to help out his defensemen and on offense Phillips has a hard NHL caliber shot and playmaking vision. Most scouts believe Zack is better suited to play wing, in order to stay at center in the NHL Zack needs to bulk up and work on his face offs and speed.

17. Montreal- Daniel Catenacci C 5-10 176 S.S. Marie OHL
Comments: Dan can light the lamp with the best of them and Dan is a wonderful skater. Catenacci can make plays at high game speeds spotting open teammates for goals. Dan also handles contact well on offense and defense making smart plays under direst. Scouts wonder how Dan’s game will play in the NHL due to his size.

18. Chicago- Tomas Jurco RW 6-2 193 Saint John QMJHL
Comments: Jurco is a star on you tube due to unreal stick handling skill, But Tomas is more than just crazy stick tricks. Jurco is quick and very agile Jurco plays a great one on one game and makes great tape to tape passes and is a true sniper. In order for Tomas to make it big in the NHL, Jurco needs to learn to play a strong defensive game and also to be more consist Tomas tends to disappear in games.

Comments: Jonas is a strong shutdown defenseman Jonas plays his angles to perfection and makes strong outlet passes to his forwards. Jonas is a very strong skater and makes smart decisions and plays well under pressure. Jonas needs to be more physical and bulk up so he is not pushed around at the NHL level.

20. Phoenix- Vladislav Namestnikov C 6-0 170 London OHL
Comments: Vladislav is a dynamic offensive talent vision, hockey IQ and playmaking skills are all NHL ready. Vladislav is not just all offense Vladislav is an excellent defensive forward who can shutdown a top line center also Vladislav is Slava Kozlov’s nephew so he has NHL Bloodlines. Vladislav needs to bulk up in order to deliver solid body checks in the NHL.

21. Ottawa (From Nas)-Ty Rattie LW 5-11 170 Portland WHL
Comments: Rattie is an awesome goal scorer only Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Sven Bartschi out scored Ty. Ty also possesses unreal playmaking skills the game seems to slow down for Rattie. Ty can hit an open teammate from anywhere. Ty doesn’t shy away from contact either. Rattie tends to get lost defensive also Rattie’s skating is below average that must improve.

22. Anaheim- Mark Scheifele C 6-2 177 Barrie OHL
Comments: Scheifele is a reliable defensive forward who plays in all situations. Mark also is an excellent set up man as well with deft stick handling skills, Mark sends teammates picture perfect passes. Scheifele has an excellent shot but he needs to shot more to maximize his skill set.

23. Pittsburgh- Brandon Saad LW 6-1 208 Saginaw OHL
Comments: Saad is a large sized man with good offensive skills protects the puck well and punishes defenders who try and front him. Saad plays good defense and back checks very hard and works deep in his own zone. Saad needs to work on his conditioning his production dropped badly as the OHL season went along.

24. Detroit- Oscar Klefbom D 6-4 200 Farjestad SWE
Comments: Oscar is a strong skater who will join a rush at the right time. Oscar makes an excellent exit pass from his own zone and has some good offensive skills. Klefbom loves to contact anybody who dares challenge him in his zone. Klefbom needs to work on his defensive position he can lose his man at times.

25. Toronto (From Phi)- Matt Puempel LW 6-0 198 Peterborough OHL
Comments: Puempel is a true goal scorer with soft hands and quick release shot. Matt can score from anywhere Matt is very strong and will not get pushed around in the corners. Matt is very coach able and is always working hard to improve Puempel is also a smooth skater. Puempel needs to learn to play better defense.

26. Washington- Alex Khokhlachev C 5-10 188 Windsor OHL
Comments: Alex is an unreal offensive talent, Alex has put OHL defenders to shame with sick passes and creative offensive scoring ability if Alex has time on the ice he will score. Some Scouts believe Alex will end up in the KHL due to the fact that Alex plays little to no defense and rarely back checks.

27. Tampa Bay- John Gibson G 6-3 205 US NTDP U-18
Comments: Gibson is a technically solid who plays his angles well and is laterally quick as well. Gibson is also relaxed and cool under pressure having played in a lot of under 18 tournaments. A team that drafts John will want him to play for Kitchener of the OHL instead of college hockey like Gibson wants too.

28. San Jose- Scott Mayfield D 6-4 197 Youngstown U-19
Comments: Mayfield is an excellent skater who has heavy shot. Mayfield is very physical will take the body and pound players who try their luck again him. Scott also needs to play at a higher level such as the OHL instead of college.

Comments: Armia has a goal scorer’s mentality with his wrist shot being his most deadly weapon. Joel is a good defensive player and skater. Armia goes to the dirty areas and has soft hands also Joel is very coach able and has a good work ethic. Armia needs to be more consistent and to shoot more in order to be a star in the NHL.

Comments: Prince is ultra fast and is a talented playmaker that can make teammates look good also Prince can also light the lamp scoring a ton. Shane’s defensive skills and skating need improvement. But Prince is a prospect who is rising up draft boards.

The Canadiens picking a guy from the OHL in the first round??? Every year since 2005, the Habs have picked from USHL or college ranks. It's an obsession for them. They will go with Mayfield or Oleksiak.
