A thread in the forums today got me to thinking. The poster, blink, makes a bold statement, saying that most of us will never be satisfied with our $60 sports game purchases.

Now I do agree that a lot of folks out there care way to much about ultimately unimportant aspects of games. Yeah, so Team X's uniforms aren't right, and I know EA can never seem to figure out that Player A wears high-tops and not medium cut cleats.

Ultimately, though, I think this is a relatively ... Read More

At the request of some folks in the forums here's another game play video.

It shows the last half of the 9th before the Twins beat the Giants in Game 4 of the World Series, the celebration (or lack there of) afterwards, followed by some more post-game clips.

I have added a video showing some of the Signature Highlights available at the end of the game to YouTube. Make sure to watch in HD (because the normal version doesn't look so hot).

The video shows the Padres at the Mets opening of CitiField, and includes highlights of Carlos Delgado, David Wright, Jose Reyes and other members of the Mets.

After a mix-up with the US Postal Service, I now have MLB 2K9 in my hands as I continue to play and dissect the game for the Operation Sports review.

While playing I've been taking some time to answer questions folks might have about the game, its features and other thoughts.

You can see what questions have been answered and ask your own in the MLB 2k9 forum here at Operation Sports. ... Read More

With banks on the verge of collapse, car makers struggling to avoid bankruptcy, and the economy mostly in shambles, there is one shining beacon in the financial market for us all to turn to.

Gamestop?

Yep. Seems Gamestop is doing just fine despite the slumping economy, not only seeing some great results in 2008, but expecting 10 to 12 percent growth on top of that in 2009.

The key? Gamers like you being nice enough to trade in a game for $10 that they ... Read More

Fat, Medium, Skinny? Fat, Fat, Skinny? Skinny, Skinny, Fat?

Back in the days of the Nintendo Entertainment System, my brothers and I spent hours in our living room contemplating the ultimate mix of players while playing the NES classic Ice Hockey.

It was the first time we sat down in front of the television and had to make choices that impacted how good our players were in the game.

Sure, the skinny dude could fly, but if you looked at him wrong he collapsed ... Read More

It's always fun to sit back and think about what kind of features would take a given title to the next level – sometimes making a good game great, or a bad game decent.

But as games push the envelope and new things are tried, you have to wonder why a handful of things aren't a given with every traditional sports game title on the market today.

4 – Why can't I save screenshots or replays to my hard drive and move them to my computer?

A lot of sports ... Read More

So I picked up MLB Front Office Manager yesterday and gave it a test drive for a few hours - taking the Pirates through the offseason up to the beginning of Spring Training.

So far I'm pretty underwhelmed by the experience.

The navigation in this game is frustrating. The audio is bland. And Billy Beane brings nothing to this game other than some pretentious photos and tips like "have a plan" and "know your players."

So far the biggest "you have to be ... Read More

I just finished embeding the top ten plays of my first season with Michigan in The Tradition online NCAA Football 2009 dynasty.

One of the biggest downsides of EA Sports World is only being able to host and embed five videos at a time. After you cycle through those videos, you can't view older videos you've uploaded.

Or can you?

If you have web space some place you can download your video off of EA Sports World and still use the EA Sports video player to embed the video.

Here is the code for embeding a video from EA Sports World ... Link.

Step one is to copy and ... Read More
