We headed down to the minors to have a look at some of our young prospects, most notably starting pitcher Aaron Sanchez, outfielder Jacob Anderson and center fielder Evan Chambers, whom we signed out of the free agent market a month ago. We're in town just in time to catch Sanchez make his start with the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats against former top pitching prospect Noah Syndergaard and the Binghamton Mets.

The Fisher Cats played well, getting Sanchez the victory. It seems that all the pieces of the R.A. Dickey trade have not panned out, with Syndergaard giving up six hits and two runs in five innings, taking the loss. However, we did notice somethings about the young guys that we came down here to watch...
Aaron Sanchez: Good break on his curve ball, fastball topping out at 97mph on the night, lots of balls hit to the warning track. 71 pitches.
Jacob Anderson: Shows some decent speed as well as the ability to pull the ball down the left field line. Great range in the outfield.
Evan Chambers: Decent speed from the lead off position and good contact.
