Kyle Lowry Drive Past A 76ers Defender For The Layup

Raptors Need OT, Beat 76ers By Seven

TORONTO -- Nobody thought (well at least I didn't) that the Toronto Raptors would be able to pull out a win against the Philadelphia 76ers at home at the Air Canada Center last night. But guess what they did? Win.

Rudy Gay had a game high 37 points in the victory thanks mainly in part to the seventeen assists that the Raptors dished out for the small forward. Point guard Kyle Lowry had eighteen points of his own, but was overshadowed by the performance of Andrea Bargnani.

Bargnani, the former first overall pick by the Raptors, has turned in yet another dismal performance on the court, scoring only two points recording one turnover. There has been many rumors that are spreading quickly saying that either Bargnani wants out of Toronto, or the Toronto management has lost its patience with him.

Jrue Holiday led the offense for the struggling 76ers, recording 22 points to go along with his seven assists and five rebounds.

Raptors head coach Dwayne Casey weighed in on Rudy Gay's offensive outburst. "They [Philadelphia] just couldn't contain him [Gay]. He's been playing really well the past few games and the fact that he finally burst out is a great sign for us [the team]."

Philadelphia falls to .500 at 3-3 following the loss to the Raptors and the Raptors improve their record to 4-2 to start the season. The Raptors have a couple of days off before the Utah Jazz come into town.
