Raptors Make Swap With Rockets

Raptors Acquire Asik From Rockets

TORONTO -- The Toronto Raptors have announced that they have swung a deal with the Houston Rockets. The Raptors have acquired center Omer Asik in exchange for small forward Mickael Pietrus and center Aaron Gray.

Asik is seven foot tall and is expected to slide into the starting lineup at the center position. The deal really benefits the Raptors as they add some much needed front-court size while giving up virtually nothing. Pietrus had no role with the Raptors after have Rudy Gay and Landry Fields take up the small forward role and the duo of Demar Derozan and Terrence Ross taking up Pietrus' secondary position. Gray is replaced by Asik so the Raptors didn't lose anything.

The Raptors are at home to play against the Philadelphia 76ers tomorrow evening at the Air Canada Center. You can catch the game live on TSN and TSN2 at 7:00 PM ET.
