Jays Destroy Orioles; Win 3rd Straight Game

Bautista celebrates after his Grand Slam. He hit 2 HR and drove in 5 RBI

Toronto exploded for the 2nd time in 3 games beating the Orioles 13-0 Most of the damage was done in the 1st 2 innings as Jose Bautista hit 2 home runs, 1 solo shot and 1 grand slam for his 2nd and 3rd home runs of the season. He drove in 5 of the 10 RBI in those 2 innings. "I feel great out there. I am seeing pitches and making good cuts" says Bautista after the game. Also highlighting the 1st 2 innings was Pablo Sandoval who hit a 3 run home run, his 1st with his new team. He finished with 4 RBI on the night. Justin Morneau, Edwin Encarnacion, and Ben Revere all went 3/4 on the night with 1, 2, and 0 RBI respectfully.

AJ Burnett pitched a gem in his 1st game back as a member of the Blue Jays going 4 innings allowing 3 hits and 0 ER while striking out 2 in the win. Oliver, and Carpenter both had shutout innings for Toronto as well. For Baltimore, Hammel allowed 4 of the runs in 1 inning pitched, Saunders allowed 6 runs in 1 inning, and O'Day allowed the last 3 runs in 2.2 innings of work in the loss for Baltimore.


Toronto (3-0) now faces Tampa Bay (1-2) at home in Rogers Center where they will look to make it 4 straight wins to start the season. They have outscored their opponents 27 to 2 in the 1st 3 games and look unstoppable. Carlos Villanueva will take the mound for Toronto while rookie Matt Moore will pitch for Tampa.
