Blue Jays Deal Lawrie to Washington!

4 games into the season and the Jays make another move reshaping the team due to contract problems. The team realized that next season they need to either sign Hanley Ramirez or Brett Lawrie and the team decided the SS was more in the plans for them. They traded 2B Brett Lawrie, DH Matt Joyce to Washington for DH/LF Michael Morse, and 2B Danny Espinosa. This deal gives Toronto the same if not better power from the 5 hole in Morse for a couple years, and it gives them a better fielding 2B. The team had to lose Joyce in the deal but it was the only fit for them.

The team also made 2 minor moves sending 5 Star Prospect LF Pete Clarke, and a AA prospect to the Pirates for 3B Pedro Alvarez. Alvarez was demoted to AAA for Pittsburgh and Toronto liked him so took a chance. They also sent C Brian Jeroloman to Seattle for AAA CF Michael Saunders. This was strictly for AAA purposes.

- Austin Jackson is also back to the big club.
