Jays Get Action Jackson from Tigers
Posted on March 23, 2012 at 03:36 PM.
The Blue Jays make a semi-big move today, sending LF/1B Michael Cuddyer, CF Casper Wells, and SS Bobo Cano (AA) to Detroit in return for CF Austin Jackson, and LF Delmon Young. Jays GM said Cuddyer and Wells haven't panned out for us, and we need production from those guys now so we decided to make a move to get Jackson who we like in our future and for Young who will be a great add to our team for this seasons title run. Jackson is expected to lead off and start CF, moving Escobar to the second spot. Young is expected to jump into the DH role when Robinson is in the lineup, and in LF the scattered NL hosted game w/ no DH

New Batting Order:
CF - Austin Jackson
SS - Yunel Escobar
RF - Jose Bautista
1B - Adam Lind
3B - Brett Lawrie
2B - Kelly Johnson
C - JP Arencieba
DH - Delmon Young
LF - Trayvon Robinson
Bench - Eric Thames, Franklin Gutierrez, Omar Vizquel, Jeff Mathis

Liking the agressiveness. This was a really nice move. I like the lineup a lot and the bench looks good too. How good was Cano though? I'm assuming you drafted him.

Thanks! I like the lineup to finally. He was 3 star SS rated 58. Cuddyer had 1 HR and 2 RBI for me since I got him earlier in the season, and Casper Wells had 1 HR and 1 RBI lol. I didnt see Wells sticking in the organization, nor Cuddyer, so I got Jackson (should be around a long time), and Young (for this season - he will probably be traded/let go in the off season). I still have Thames who I want to get bats but its tough with Robinson getting good stats, so I will have to see what I can do. Also, SPOILER ALERT...Jackson's 1st game hitting lead off went 2/2, RBI, R, RBI, 2B hope a sign of things to come

Wow you got a good deal on that. I think you'll be very happy with Jackson over the next 6+ years. He'll be robbing HRs and stealing bases in no time. Now for Delmon I'd look to Trade Finder because I'd want to see how Thames/Robinson do. You could probably get somebody fairly good for him; I don't know what though since your set at every position for a while haha. Perhaps a SP and some more. But yeah I think your lineup should do good.

Oh btw quick tip, if you want a good, young LH SP, I recommend Brad Hand of the Marlins. He progresses quickly and his pitches are very effecient being that he's a lefty. At least in Year 2 of my 'chise.
Good luck with the Jays!

Sounds good. he has a 4-hit, 10 K, shutout for me against SD through 8 1/3 but he's on a hot streak so that could have something to do with it lol. his 12-6 is deadly when he's hot. Looking forward to the rest of your season and the offseason.

sorry for posting on here again but wow I got a 15 K CG shutout, mostly off of his 86 ovr. (hot streak of course) 12-6 crv. Definitely not taking him out of my rotation any time soon. =)

Glad you like Jackson. Hand has fallen out of his hot streak as of late but I believe he is still 4-1 with a good ERA last time I checked. He might not pitch as good for you at first because he may not be as good yet (being it's the first season of your franchise + he was only so good because of the hot streak). Hopefully he does though if you get him. Again good luck on the season. =$)
