Pistol leads the Wizards to an easy victory over the Bucks and the Wizards move to .500. After two straight tough losses to the Celtics, the Wizards needed a win and did so with ease on their home floor. Coach had a few comments after the game and when asked about Pistol's play he replied, "He got off to a fast start and during a early timeout I could see the fire in his eyes, I made sure he kept getting the ball and he responded with an amazing effort." Maravich recorded his first career triple double and also had a career high in points with 35. Next up for the Wizards are the Pacers tomorrow in Indiana.
Pistol records double double
in first appearance for Wizards
Pistol made his first start tonight vs the Cavaliers. Pete was matched up with fellow rookie and fourth overall pick Dion Waiters and it was easy to see why Pete was selected before him. He recorded a double double as the starting shooting guard for the Wizards and Coach Wittman could see from the beginning he should be on the floor as much as possible. We caught up with Coach after the game and he had a lot to say about Maravich, "He was all over the floor tonight and looked poised and ready for the NBA." When asked how he sees Wall and Maravich playing together he replied, "Wall is our definite starter at Point, but tonight proved Pete can also run the floor. I'm going to try both at Point Guard in different situations to see where each play better and work from there." The Wizards match up with the Celtics on Saturday should be a good one and tickets are already sold out to see the rookie play.

In 1970, a 23 year old guard for LSU was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks with the 3rd overall pick. The pick was acquired from the San Francisco Warriors and this guard joined a roster that was already an established playoff team. The guard would go on to have a amazing 10 year career for 3 teams and earned his spot in the Hall of Fame. The man is remembered for his moves that were never seen before and if you asked any sports writer what word described him as a player, they will all say the same thing:
"Pistol"
Now its 2012, what would his career be like in an era of lightning fast players and a three point line.
My job is to find out.
How I'm doing it:
This is my first dynasty and I've been wanting to do something like this for a while. The Pete Maravich in 2k13 is the rookie so there is little editing I had to do. I made a few changes to his ratings: slight drop in mid range and pass (Mid- Now 75, Pass- Now 84), ultimately making him an 83 overall player. Pete was selected 3rd overall in the coin flip era, the 3rd pick was assigned based on the 3rd worst record in the league, looking back at the 2011-12 season, the third worst record belonged to the Washington Wizards, who still received the 3rd pick through the lottery. So Beal has been removed and replace with the legendary Pete Maravich. His contract is set up to replicate Beal's rookie contract. I will be using 2k13's CAL on All Star Simulation with 12 minute quarters.
Enjoy!
