Throughout the Celtics' history, they have made some very good moves, but in the late 90s and early 00s they slipped up. In 1998, the Celtics traded Chauncey at the trade deadline for Kenny Anderson. Now based on their stats, it looks like he played PG when he should have played SG like he does today. This is likely why they traded him. If the Celtics kept him they would have finished that season the same way and would have still drafted Paul Pierce that offseason. If the celtics managed to sign a pg along the way, Billups could have shined alongside a young Pierce and would have given the Celtics a better core to build around for the turn of the century.
