Once again we return to the Hawks.
First Edition

2001-2002 Atlanta Hawks
Starting Lineup
C Pau Gasol

Man, I look at the Hawks' draft history and just shake my head. If you were to rank the top 5 players the Hawks have ever drafted only two(Josh Smith,Al Horford) ever played for them. One of the others, Pau Gasol who was immediately traded to Memphis for Shareef Abdur-Rahim, a veteran that never dominated in a Hawks uniform. The Hawks were in the middle of a Eight year stretch with no playoff appearances, that stretch would have been a lot shorter if the Hawks drafted Pau. The combination of Pau and Jason Terry would have been a foundation to build around instead of a series of seasons with a roster turnover almost every year. The Hawks could have begun to form a lower seed playoff team with the chance to use the flexibility to turn into a competitive team in the playoffs. It'd be hard to determine if Joe or Josh ever made it to the Hawks, but if they did it'd be hard to not call this team a contender.

I'm honestly don't know I Saw him during summer league but I don't think the hawks would use their last spot on a pg they're looking for a sf
