West Ham United Crowned Barclays Premier League Champions!

After a long, tough season, West Ham finally closed the year with a 2-2 draw vs. Arsenal, more than enough to clinch their title. Arsenal struggled to end the season and was never a real threat to win the game, but they were virtually eliminated anyways unless they won by 8 goals in the game. Manchester United played against Newcastle and was 5 goals back on goal differential, but 3 points behind, so needed West Ham to lose.

The season had some rough spots for the team, but they managed to put together 24 wins, 9 draws and only 5 losses for 81 points and their first championship in a few long time. It was also manager Dylan Barrons' first bit of hardware since taking over the team. With such a young side and many top prospect players coming up, they look to keep challenging for the title in years to come.

When asked about the team, the manager said he's going to do his best to get a nice reserve squad together for the FA and Capital One Cups, in order to rest his main guns for the Champions League games. He said the goal next year is to win not just the league, but at least 1 cup as well. With the Champions League back into the rotation, many are keeping an eye on West Ham to put a big effort towards Europe's crown jewel club championship.

This year's gold boot winner also came from West Ham. Italian striker Andrea Martinetti scored a league best 21 goals in 27 games to best Sunderlands Connor Wickham by 3. Fransisco Prats Bastidas had 14 goals to go along with 17 assist's, but somehow didn't manage to win a trophy. With such a great season, he looks to attract a lot of suitors, but West Ham is adamant that it will do it's best to keep it's players.

Congrats on winning the league! Wanted to drop a note and say I've been enjoying reading your updates. I'm in my third season with Stoke and every time I play West Ham, I feel like I'm playing you haha. Keep it up!

Haha, my teams got pretty tough lately. Martinetti is a 90 overall now, still only 24 years old, Prats Bastidas is an 88 at 23. Hopefully West Ham doesn't have that in your league!
